Alright, let me set this straight from the beginning: I am not a TMac hater. I was on the TMac side in the Kobe-TMac debates last year. But something really bothers me, and I've been debating with a friend of mine about this a whole lot lately. Does TMac really want to win, and if so, is he good enough to carry the team to victory?

Now, this argument is a double edged sword. If TMac really wants to win AND can carry the team to victory, wouldn't they have never faced the 19 game losing streak? So is the issue that he can't carry the team, or that he doesn't want to win?

I just haven't been impressed with the way TMac leads the team. He is a self-proclaimed superstar, so the responsibility of winning is on him more than on any other player. In each of the past three playoff series he's been in, he has proclaimed himself the best player, then been outplayed by a member of the opposing team. In '01 it was Ray Allen, in '02 it was B Diddy, and in '03 it was the unheralded rookie Tayshaun Prince who D'ed up on TMac in game seven.

I don't think TMac is in the same boat as KG, who faces overwhelming odds year after year. The Bucks, Hornets and Pistons aren't the Dream-Glide-Barkley Rockets, the 90's Sonics, the Big Three in Dallas or the Lakers.

So the question, after three straight dismal playoff appearances and a horrible start to the season which promises to end that first round streak the wrong way, is: Does TMac have what it takes to win in the NBA, or will he have to defer to another superstar, like Kobe has, in order to have playoff success?

Yes T-mac has what it takes to lead a team and yes he wants to win. If you watched the game where they got their 19th loss right before he took of his warmup he told the cameramen and fans watching qoute''I need a win I need a win" So the anwser to both of your questions is yes. yes he want's to win and yes he can lead a team to victory.

He wants to lead the team and he wants to win, but he just can't do it by himself. In the losing streak, the pressure was on Tmac alone. His teammates were watching him and just standing around, they were just letting Tmac do everything and weren't trying to get involved. Lately his teammates have been getting involved and we've won 3 of 4.

I understand completely where you are coming from with, Does Tmac want to win? and I might be a little biased, but that's just how I see this question

I think Tmac can lead them to more than a Victory. I think he could lead them, hopefully, into the playoffs!
