<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Dec 06 2003 - According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Andrei Kirilenko's ''5x5'' from Wednesday was a rare feat only matched twice in the last 10 years. Triple-doubles get all the pub, but a 5x5 (at least five each of points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks in one game), has only been managed by Vlade Divac (1995) and Jamaal Tinsley (2001) during the past decade. Wednesday, Kirilenko had 19 points, five boards, seven assists, eight steals, and five blocks. It's easy to see why he has the fifth-best Efficiency rating in the league. </div>

If that was not enough, he got a second one on December 11th of this year as well:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Dec 11 2003 - Andrei Kirilenko achieved his second 5x5 within a week in yesterday's game. He had 10 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, six steals, and five blocks. This is really something. Before Kirilenko, an NBA player had only reached at least five each of points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks in a single game just twice in the last 10 years. </div>

Incredible stuff. He really is a very unique player, like one we haven't really seen before with the way he plays and the way he's built. I think Pierce will get a 5x5 by season's end too - I'm surprised Garnett hasn't.

This is a NBA veteran right? What he did is amazing. To be one of only 2 players to do this and the only one to do it twice in this decade is awsome. T-mac might do this in a couple of years. I see peirce doing this before febuary and why hasn't Kg did this yet?

I admire players with well-rounded games. Andrei is not All-Star material in most people's eyes because he does not focus on one area of his game, thus he doesn't as much attention as Ben Wallace who grabs rebounds but doesn't score or Kobe Bryant who scores but doesn't do anything else very well. Even one of the most well-rounded players in the game, Jason Kidd, excels at a particular stat with his remarkable assists per game numbers. As far as efficiency goes, Andrei Kirilenko is among the best. The NBA needs to do a better job of showcasing players like him. Shane Battier, Kerry Kittles, Mike James, Emanuel Ginobili, Chauncey Billups, and Brent Barry are other examples of players who don't get the publicity they deserve for their all-around games. Infact, I would take Billups over Payton, Kirilenko over J.O'Neal, and Ginobili over Iverson any day of the week.

I couldn't agree with Wave more. Kirilenko is amazing. The NBA just doesnt' reward dominant defensive and hustle statistics like they do offensive stats. The only othe guy that are putting stat-lines anything like Kirilenko on a consistent basis are Marion and Artest.

I never heard of the 5x5 until AK did it. Yeah, like alot of you, I am suprised that KG hasn't had one yet. He is an all around amazing player, so I thought he would have had one.

You can't get a 10x10, since there are not 10 categories. But a 5x10(or quintuple double) would be quite a feat. Only four players have ever gotten quadruple doubles though.

I am really surprised that KG hasn't gotten the 5x5 yet. I would have thought someone like Dream or the Admiral in their primes would have had 5x5's as well, more surprised about them than KG in fact. Both could score, rebound, block and pass, and despite being centers were consistently among league leaders in steals.

The only guys to get the quadruple double are Nate Thurmond, Alvin Robertson, Hakeem Olajuwon, and David Robinson(that's in the order that they recorded them).

lol, I want to know how Tinsley got those blocks too. [IMG]

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Wave:</div><div class="quote_post">Ginobili over Iverson any day of the week.</div>

There are more than just numbers when it comes to a player (EVEN THO IVERSONS ARE BETTER)... defense is hard to keep track of (beside steals/blocks)... also leadership skills... players follow Iverson (even tho he fails to practice)... If you truley believe Ginobili is better than Iverson, you need to check yourself... yea you are a high of 5x5s... but seriously. Dont ever say that again.

The media wants to portray Allen Iverson as one of the greatest players in the league, but he doesn't get the job done like Ginobili does. Ginobili is one of the five most efficient players in the league (Yahoo.Com) and Iverson doesn't even come close to touching that. You can cry to me about intangibles and leadership all day, but you need to be able to think for yourself. Just because you've heard that Allen Iverson is a top ten player over and over again doesn't mean that you have to feel that way too.

About the bold part, I am not "a high of 5x5s". I just value an all-around game that gets the job done over a one-dimensional one that doesn't get the job done.

So do you think Ginobilli would do a better job of trying to get to the playoffs than Iverson? Do you think Ginobilli would've gotten the 76ers to the Finals like Iverson took them to the Finals?

People are misinterpreting. Ginobili isn't the better player, but he is more efficient and can do more on a consistent basis. Sure you'd take Iverson as your star, but if I had a well balanced team around either of them I'd give Ginobili serious consideration over Iverson too.

That being said, if the Spurs could magically trade Ginobli for Iverson the would be dancing in the streets.

Manu is still young too, I think he can be better than Iverson in the future.

Manu has been a top 7 fantasy player all season long, even being number one for a short amount of time.

Iverson did not lead Phili to the finals, the refs did, what a huge disgrace that was to the entire league. I refused to watch a finals game that year.
