Ah, the Skywalker. Could make a case for him as having the best ups ever. He was Jordan's inspiration growing up when he was playing at NC State.
One of the best dunkers ever. Pulled off a 360 in the first ABA dunk contest. Might not sound like a big deal, but how many other people did 360's then? That contest was kinda funny because it had Thompson and Erving, which is no surprise to anyone, but then it busted out with people like Larry Keenan, George Gervin, and Artis Gilmore (7'2 Artis Gilmore). It was a weird mix of people in the first dunk contest. When first looking at the picture I kind of figured it was Thompson, but the angle the picture was at (the first picture that was posted) gave me some doubt.
Mad hops and one of the most underrated scorers of the 70s (put up 70 odd in a game once, second highest total ever i think?). Just a pity his career ended the way it did.
Atlanta could have been unstoppable if he had chosen the NBA over the ABA in the beginning. I think they had Hudson and Maravich at the time. Yowzers!
