That's a great story and very well written! I remember the season, I was rooting heavily for the Knicks and the Sonics that year.

I wasn't a basketball fan during this time and I've never seen any movies or anything so this was a great recap to me. I knew some of the stats and who won what awards but this told me all the stuff that they don't tell you like how close the scoring race was (Robinson only won by half a point? Damn) and other stuff like that. Great article.

Nice recap. That's the year the Pacers finally finished above .500 and started this nice little run thier on. Now if they can just finish what Larry Brown help start and win a championship.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TimmyGinobili:</div><div class="quote_post">I recall watching the playoffs and I must admit that this was the most impressive preformance of a center in the history of basketball. Hakeem entered the playoffs and destroyed awesome centers, I mean made them look absolutely silly. David Robinson, Dekembe, and countless other I don't remember weither this was the year he made shaq cry or not but absolutely awesome.</div>

Yeah of all the great players that have played in the league, Akeem is right up there. He was especially good at rising to the occasion, a trait that truly makes you a superstar. He was at the top of his game during those finals though.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting notMuchgame:</div><div class="quote_post">The 93-94 season was when I became a hardcore hoops fan and started watching all the games I could. I also remember the Finals, Rockets and Knicks, game 7, I was cheering for the Rockets. John Starks chokes and goes 2-18fgs. The rockets had scoring rookie pg off the bench in Sam Cassel, and Hakeem just outplayed Ewing, which was a rematch of their Georgetown vs Houston battle 10 years before. Ah...memories....</div>

Oh man did Starks ever choke. Any of you guys remember that game? You know how they tell a good shooter "Keep Shooting". Well Starks kept shooting and I kept yelling at the tv for him to STOP SHOOTING!!! That game 7 was decided by some bad nerves I do think. Hakeem and Ewing, 2 centres that could do it all, and by that I mean centres that could actually hit jump shots.

^Yup I do. Wasn't his last shot about 7 feet short of the goal. Boy he did bad. But at least he didn't go through a major funk for the rest of his career like Nick Anderson playing against the Rockets.

    yeah great job

but i still think The bulls would have won that series they would
have knocked out New York like all ways and then would have
won their 4th in a row.
All the Rockets had was Hakeem if the Bulls double up on him
then he would have had to kick out to the guards where they ran into Jordan and Pippen on the outside

Nice recap. The league is gonna be different without MJ playing. It was time for him to retire though. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

the Scottie Pippen facial over Ewing
    Man that was nasty
Maybe the greatest dunk ever ????????

Trust me there are a lot more dunks better than that. Like (*sigh*) Michael Jordan spining baseline dunking on Ewing. That dunk still hurts me today but, now that MJ retired it doesn't hurt me as much.

I think that it was good for basketball. It made the league focus on other players overshadowed by Jordan. It was like when Muhammad Ali was banned from boxing in 1967-70. It really gave guys like Frazier, Quarry, and Ellis some good exposure and respect during that time.
