<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Two league sources told Insider that the Celtics and Cavaliers have agreed to a trade that will send Ricky Davis, Chris Mihm and Michael Stewart to Boston for Eric Williams, Tony Battie and Kedrick Brown.

The trade is expected to be announced later Monday.

The trade gives the Cavs three solid defenders to surround LeBron James. In addition, Cleveland creates extra cap flexibility next summer when Williams' contract comes off the books.

The Celtics get a player capable of scoring 20 points a game in Davis as well as big man Mihm, who is playing the best basketball of his career.

Yeah, Celtics might have recovered from the loss of Walker. I really like this trade for Boston.

What a trade! I'm excited, Davis is an excellent acquisition to this team. I'd have liked to see someone more like that when they traded Walker...still, this is a real good move for them.

    I like the deal.

The Cavs had too much finesse/players that were afraid of contact, and a lack of veteran leadership.

LeBron James now has more finishers around him, but I bet he will keep playing aggressive as he has been the last week too. Ricky just did not fit in with that.

We have Wagner too people, don't forget that, he is expected back in under a month.

The Celtics obviously needed another scoring. Pierce needed some scoring help, which they got. Of course there are some flaws that some with him, like his attitude, but they needed this. I think it worked out for both teams though, Davis wasn't doing much in Cleveland.

It's always a "wait and see" with Ricky, that's the problem. We gave him countless chances. I wish him well.

The Cavs pulled the trigger... but the question is, are they done?

Rumor has it that the Cavs could possibly trade Darius Miles for Troy Hudson of the Twolves.

Other names the Cavs are intrested is Orlando's Juwan Howard, and Miami's Caron Butler.

    My thoughts on this trade

    Cavs view first

Eric Williams-Very underrated player who can not only score but play very good defence. He can be a good slasher while being able to hit the open three.Plenty of times this season he has bailed the Celtics out with key shots late in games. He is also a vet who has good experience of this league.Which is exactly what the Cavs need.

Tony Battie-Is a pretty decent center in the east. The Cavs now have a good back-up at the center spot to big Z.Battie is also a decent shot blocker that can score and grab key rebounds inside.Getting him adds depth to the Cavs roster. He is another guy who has been in the league a while.Experience is the key thing the Cavs have lacked this year.

Kedrick Brown-This guy has great potenial. He is one of the best dunkers in the league so the Cavs won't be short on excitment even with Davis gone.Under the right coaching he could become a decent player down the line.Playing with a great passer like James could help his overall game even more

    Celtics view

Ricky Davis-He is just what they Celtics need.A scorer for Paul Pierce.Even though they have been said to have not much scoring they have been on fire lately.Scoring over 100 points in their last 5 games which has meant a 5 game winning streak.Adding a player like Ricky to their team will not only make them a more exciting team to watch but it gives Pierce even more help with scoring.Less pressure and likely less double and triple teams.

Chris Mihm- I reckon this guy is somewhat underrated. He has been playing great basketball this season compared to past years. He can score in the low post and get rebounds when he needs to.He will certainly help the Celtics with Raef Lefrentz out for the season because of injury. He could be the wildcard in this trade.

Michael Stewart-He is basically just a throw in to make the deal work. However from what I have seen from him he is a guy who can attack the glass and throw it down with some force.Remains to be seen how effective he will ever be.

Overall I feel this is a good trade for both.Talent wise the Celtics certainly win this deal.In terms of what both teams need I say it is even. The main thing the Cavs have lacked this year is lack of experience and not being able to finish off games when they have the chance to.Players like Battie and Williams will give them much needed experience and a few guys who can defend.

Thats my view on this trade.

Nice trade. It seems to work well for both sides.

The Celtics desperately needed another scorer to compliment Paul Pierce. They lost Williams and Battie but they were looking to get rid of both players anyways. Mihm has shown great improvements this season and could do great things to help Boston. Talent wise, they won this deal.

The Cavs dumped Ricky Davis and they have been looking to get rid of him for a while. With Williams/Battie they will bring much needed defense and give the Cavs a new look.

Wow, I never would have thought Davis would go to the Celtics. Boston gets the best out of this deal. They get their much needed second option and don't really lose anything in return. I don't really understand it from a Cavs point of view, besides that Davis is a lockerroom cancer.

Very nice trade for the Celts. I think Ricky will mellow down with the Celts because he's basically given a fresh start.

Taken from a Marc Stein live chat on ESPN...

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">For the Cavs, Ricky simply had to go. Paul Silas didn't know night to night which Ricky he'd be getting and Eric Williams is the sort of rugged veteran Cleveland is looking for to put around LeBron. The Cavs would have preferred doing Ricky for Williams straight up, but Boston wants more size, which is why the Celts wanted Mihm and Yogi. Cavs got a little extra on their end by getting Kedrick Brown instead of Walter McCarty. </div>

    I agree 100%

    Kapono should start tonight.

    Cavs trade Davis!!!

I can't believe the cavs would trade one of their most potent scoring threats for three no name players. I don't understand and they got rid of chris mihm who is having the best year so far of his career. i can't believe it, even if Ricky Davis was clashing with his coach they should have tried to work it out in my opinion. I believe that Ricky Davis is too valuable to this organization, plus they needed his help to help Lebron with the scoring responsiblities on the Cavs. Whats you Opinion????
