<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Chicago Bulls today acquired guard Rick Brunson from the Toronto Raptors in exchange for guard Roger Mason, Jr. This trade is conditional upon both players passing their physicals.

Brunson has made 193 appearances throughout his seven-year career, averaging 2.5 ppg, 1.8 apg and 1.0 rpg. This season, he has averaged 1.3 ppg through three appearances as a Raptor. In 2002-03 with the Bulls, the 6-4, 190-pound guard averaged 3.5 ppg, 2.1 apg and 1.1 rpg in 17 games. Since going undrafted in the 1997 NBA Draft, Brunson has toured with five different teams, including his second tour of duty with the Bulls.

Mason has appeared in 20 career games in his two seasons with the Bulls and has averaged 1.7 ppg. This season, he averaged 1.0 ppg, 1.0 rpg and 1.0 apg in three games. Mason has been on the injured list with a left groin strain since November 7, 2003 and has missed Chicago’s last 17 games. The 6-5, 200-pound guard was selected by Chicago in the second round (31st overall) of the 2002 NBA Draft.</div>

Not earth shattering news by any means, but Chicago are starting to shake up their roster lately, starting with the coach and now their roster.

Huge Trade lol jk. I dont see why Chicago needs Brunson. I hope Mason jr can learn from Alvin Williams they are very similar.

I think Toronto benefits more from this. Of course, ChiTown needs help at the point, but I felt juggling Brunson in last year only retarded the development of Jay and Crawford, and will do ditto for Jamal and Hinrich. Mason never really played while with the Bulls, but i bet Skiles will try to work Brunson in because of his veteran presence. However, I can easily see the Raptors working Mason in as their backup point.

Well, I don't think Mason is going to be anything special. And, the Bulls do need a Pg, and Brunson brings solid defense. I like it for both teams.

i dont get this deal? why is GG wasting his time trading for another guard? palacio is getting either dnb/cd's or garbage minutes.

battie and mihm were both on the market and gg is making deals for guards...hmmmmmmmmm [IMG]

It wasn't a bad trade for Chicago, who got fan favorite Brunson back. Check out his official website.
