http://www.newsday.com/sports/basketball/n...tball-headlines If Kurt Thomas leaves next season, will the Rockets need him? Maybe the Rockets can pull out a sign and trade with New York with Eddie Griffin for Thomas? I think that would be electric if it goes through. Kurt Thomas will provide the Rockets with low post scoring to help out Yao and Kelvin Cato would be free to return to his position as backup centre.
I'm thinking that that would be a great move. I'm not so sure the Knicks would agree. Griffin comes with a whole lotta baggage, and they are focused more on qualifying for the playoffs than developing him on the court(or in court). If the Rockets gave up something more, like Cato or Nachbar, the Knicks might bite.
I think the addition of Kenny Thomas would be great for the Rockets. You can rule out Eddie Griffin from all prospective trade ideas. There is no team in the league that wants him due to his "off the court" problems. I think giving up Cato will be a bit too much. Jeff Van Gundy really likes Cato and I think he compliments Yao very well. Cato is a "banger" and that is someone you need to compliment with Yao. Nachbar could be a possibility in a sign and trade with the Knicks. It all depends on how JVG sees Nachbar is his "future plans". It all depends if he is high on Nachbar or not.

Right, and Thomas would be that banger next to Yao that Cato provides, letting Cato move back to center. And of course the Knicks would be getting a small forward for their future. But they'd only trade if they knew that Dice was back to good.
