Kellen Winslow II has informed Butch Davis that he wants to play DE on obvious passing downs, adding that his speed and athleticism will create mismatches with OT's....if you had him and knew he could contribute at DE, would you risk his health and let him do it?
Sounds like a publicity stunt to me. Why not just make him a gunner on your special teams? Or let him punt/place kick in blowouts? Or guard the Gatorade? Cripes...this rookie should just shut up and play and concentrate on being the best TE he can be. If he lined up at DE, he would get killed. If I were the offensive coordinator, I'd send a Tackle, a Tight End and the Fullback after him just to knock him on his ass...even if it cost the play.
