<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Williams, who still is walking with the aid of crutches, said his recovery is ahead of schedule and he plans to start jogging by the middle of the summer. His goal is to play at some point next season, although some are skeptical he will be able to regain his NBA form.

"I'm moving around a little without my crutches, and I'm shooting,'' he said. "I'm enjoying working up a little sweat.''

Williams, who will fly back to Durham on Sunday, said he wanted to attend the team's shootaround Saturday morning, but management thought it would be better for him just to attend the game. Williams' future with the Bulls is uncertain.

"I promise myself I'm going to play there again,'' he said.</div>

It will be intresting to see when Jay will return. And also, how will he play.

DeMarr Johnson hasn't been able to get back into the league, I just hope Williams doesn't share the same fate...

Man I hope he makes it back. I was really excited to see how he'd turn out and it'd be such a shame if he doesn't make it.

If he doesn't someone should do a 20/20 style special with him and Bobby Hurley about why Duke PG's can drive to the basket or drive thier teams to NCAA titles but can't drive motor vehicles. "Is it a curse of some sort or does court vision just not translate into driving vision?"

Those were to completely different injuries I believe. I think Demmar's was something with his backbone or vertebrae.

Sadly, I doubt Jay will ever be able to get to a point where he can average 10 points and 6 assists, and like Hurley will at max only be able to play some backup roles. It is really sad, since he had so much promise coming out. Remember some of the comparisons to MJ, and the predictions that he'd take them to the playoffs? Now that's all over.

I know eh, but Im still happy for him. This guy's gone thru alot... from being eclipsed by that bigass square headed chinese dude before the draft, then now this. It's sad to see someone so talented not being able to live up his full potential in the L. Best of luck tho.

^ Yea, I agree...Basketball is gonna be secondary. I'm sure he doesn't feel sorry for himself. He should feel blessed with what he still has and that he didn't share the same fate as some others... Bobby Phils, Malik Sealy, Derrick Thomas R.I.P.

The gist was that he was on a motorcycle(expressly forbidden in his contract, and w/o a moto license, but that's another story) and crashed into a pole. He tore the tendons in his leg apart, and lost feeling in both his legs. He also broke his pelvic bone. For several days after, doctors thought he may never walk again, let alone play bball. They knew he could walk about a week after the accident, but his recovery has been somewhat miraculous nevertheless.
