With Cato now starting at power forward, do the Rockets need a new backup centre? I think we can just sign a quality banger in the post. My top choices are:
    Mikki Moore
    Travis Knight
Ike Austin (since he played in China, maybe he can take over Colin Pine's job or something.)

I think the Rockets could definetly use a back-up center. As of right now we just have Cato play the 5 when Yao comes out of the game or bring in Alton Ford off the bench .I think our best bet to getting a quality big man is via a trade rather than signing somebody. If we were to trade, it would be one of our guards, as we are two deep now, and three deep when Griffin and Wilks come off of the IL.

I'm thinking that a shot blocker like Tony Battie would be nice. Van Gundy would like him, but i'm not sure what houston has that cleveland would like.

Another possibility is one of Seattle's centers.

I think the Tony Battie trade wont work until at least next season because Cleveland just got him and wont give him up yet. But the Seattle trade might work. We can see a AGriffin for Calvin Booth trade.

Yes, they do need a backup center. Yao gets into foul trouble too easily and Cato is more effective playing PF. Taylor can play the center in spots, but cannot be relied on because he too is not immune to fouls. Unfortunately, there are not many decent centers out there, so it may not be worth usin the cash to sign a backup. Maybe they should just wait till the offseason and just sign a good backup at a decent price.
