I agree. Curtis Martin has had an amazing career...borderline Hall of Fame...and no one knows who he is. It's really sad. I think KGB is overpaid, but I don't think he's overrated. He really CAN be good. He could just use some help on the D-Line.
yea, thats part of my point curtis martin IS A hall of famer, is a iron running back into his 30s, rushed over 1000 all of his career, and never gets credit. and fred taylor is good, but has injury history.
I dont think Curtis Martin is underrated. Do you ever watch any Jets games, all you hear is announcers talking about how great he is. The fans dont know him cause he's not flashy, just very consistent. He rarely breaks off long runs, but almost always gets positive yardage. gruden is overrated, that D he inherited was going to break out that year regardless of the coach, i believe if dungy had stayed he would have road that D. kiffin isnt under or overrated, i agree with E4L, JJ is one of the top 2 assistants in the league. but if i said what you said id be burned at the stake for making insane eagles loving posts. the other top 2 assistant is ROmeo Crennel, IMO. i think he helps Belichick more than B helps romeo IMO.
Gruden is a great coach. I'll never forget when he was in Philly and we had Ty Detmer and Rodney Pete as our QB's and we had one of the highest ranked offenses in the league. Just cause he had a bad year last year, does not make him overrated. In fact, had the stupid tuck rule never taken into effect, he might have gone to the Super Bowl with the Raiders. Give the brotha some props.
overrated-Shawn Springs. Hes not the player he was. He was behind Ken Lucass at points during last season Underrated-Rodney Harrison. People mention the top S in the NFL as Roy Williams, Ed Reed, Brian Dawkins, Darren Sharper etc. Rodney is never mentioned.
Two more for the underrated list... ILB Jamie Sharper - Has same or better stats than Keith Brooking who gets much more press. K Paul Edinger - Yep, kickers can be underrated too! He has great numbers in five years with the Bears. It's hard to kick outdoors at Soldier Field.

If you are calling bulger over-rated than Mcnabb is to, because bulger has same kind of win numbers as mcnabb and better QB rating. Overrated kicker Vanderjagt/Elam - One kicks in a dome the other a MILE above sea level. Underrated Akers - he kicks in weather and is most accurate kicker with that situation.
Bulger-22TD22INTs, better talent, had best WR with him. McNAbb-broken finger/sprained thumb 16TD-11INT, way less talent. had best second half please lets drop this debate before it starts. I agree with akers, aside from Venateri i think hes the best, and most clutch. this year he had a down year because the winds at the Linc are crazy, he and just about ever K that came through said it. once he figures the winds out, hell be better.
o yea, Bears, if a kicker makes 39(or what ever) straight, hes not overrated. even though the idiot kicker missed a clutch FG in tampa that was called back from the most redicilous call EVER and got another shot 10yards closer

We also had the raiders score over 40 on us in 2002 the year our defense was 1 in the nfl. Defenses have bad games, it happens. Did you know 2003 buccaneers was still the 5th best defense in the nfl and top 3 in fewest point allowed? Jim johnson better then kiffin, lets put it this way. We have had 1 of the best defenses for over what 8 years? We have a superbowl that our defense won us, monte kiffin credentials speak for itself. Im not gonna rip on jim johnson cause he has done a great job with the eagles defense. But Jim johnson better then monte kiffin cmon. As for dungy in indy i dont see the colts defense as great and he has been their for 3 years now. Monte kiffin is difintley one of the best d cordinaters in the nfl. If any defense cordinater is overlooked its the patroits d cordinater Romeo Crennel ! I take monte kiffin or crennel over any other d cordinater in the nfl.
curtis martin is definatly underrated around the league, i dont think anyone knows that he has i think 9 straight seasons over 1000 yards, most of those years hes been at 1500, he is going for the record this season with 10 straight seasons. I think every Jets fan appreciates what Martin does everyday, but around the league no one thinks very highly of him
Kiffin is not better than JJ or crennel. THey are equal in skill but different in approach, they have great abilty. Kiffin just does not get the pub he deserves.
like i said, kiffin isnt under/overrated, hes the highest paid ass. and deserves to be. Romeo Crenel is the best IMO, and JJ is right there. Hes had injuries after injuries and hes just plugging no-names in that become good players. Walker, Rayburn, Kalu, Rod Hood, CLinton Hart etc. they are all great,
