Supersonics 98, Nuggets 99 Play By Play Carmelo is simply amazing. He didn't play his best game, but he had the biggest play of game at the end. He hit the game winning lay-up with 6 seconds left to pull the Nuggets into another Win this season. Andre miller was just 1 ast away from a triple double... and also played great to help the Nuggets win. Here are the top performers for this game: Nuggets Top Performences <ul> [*]<u>Andre Miller</u>: 20 points, 11 rebounds, 9 ast, 35 min, 8-13 shooting [*]<u>Carmelo Anthony</u>: 19 points, 6 rebounds, 6 ast, 38 min, 6-18 shooting [*]<u>Marcus Camby</u>: 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 ast, 39 min, 7-10 shooting, 7 blocks (including the block at the end of the game to prevent the sonics from scoring)
Sonics Top Performences <ul> [*]<u>Rashard Lewis</u>: 19 points, 8 rebounds, 1 ast, 38 min, 8-18 shooting [*]<u>Flip Murray</u>: 19 points, 3 rebounds, 3 ast, 28 min, 8-17 shooting [*]<u>Antonio Daniels</u>: 18 points, 5 ast, 28 min, 6-11 shooting, 3-4 threes
Great game, you gotta love it. Carmelo for ROY! Next Game Friday, Dec. 19 8:30 pm at Lakers TV: FSN, NBALP

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Sandman:</div><div class="quote_post">Co-Rookies Of The Year*</div> Co-signed Both playing so damn good.Wouldn't be right if either misses out.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MVPlaya:</div><div class="quote_post">Interesting idea... you think that can happen?</div> It can and it may. It has happened three other times in league history, with Geoff Petri/Dave Cowens, Grant Hill/Jason Kidd, and Elton Brand/Steve Francis. Lebron seems to be taking more on his back, but Carmelo is playing with more calm, and more control, proven by that clutch play. Good stuff.
ill say it again...SO FAR its melo for ROY. this is not an opinion. this is a fact. but its still very early.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NugzFan:</div><div class="quote_post">ill say it again...SO FAR its melo for ROY. this is not an opinion. this is a fact. but its still very early.</div> I'd be interested to know how this is a fact? And don't give me crap about Carmelo being the big reason for their turnaround, please. Firstly, if he's turned the franchise around I doubt he'd do it with such a low shooting percentage. Secondly, that would be disrespecting the job Earl Boykins, Andre Miller and Marcus Camby has done for this franchise. There is nothing that can clearcut either Melo or Bron for ROY. Sadly it may come down to team records, which is wrong considering how much of a better team Carmelo has around him than Bron. Oh, and don't look now, but Dwyane Wade is becoming a serious candidate too.
^^ Very well said, but we know he will disrestect the rest of his team anyway, just for the sake of an award. Very close minded and stubborn.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NugzFan:</div><div class="quote_post">because the stats are similar but melo is WINNING (out west). but like i said, its SO FAR. doesnt mean much. wade has no shot.</div> Did you read a word I said. Of course the fact that Melo's winning will probably get him over the line, but I don't think that is a fair reason as the team surrounding Melo is so much better than the team surrounding 'Bron it's not funny. Not based on natural talent, but the ability to work together to win ballgames. Melo does not have nearly as much on his shoulders. Wade has no shot? Well you're the one who said the season was early, and he's currently getting just under 16, 5 and 5, and is on a tear at the moment.
i know YOU dont think its a fair reason. im saying it is a reason. you think the media and voters dont notice? of course they do. sure if bron was averaging 25 ppg, 10 rpg, 7 apg or some stats that blew melo away he would win. id vote for him too. but hes not. the stats are close. melos team is only better than brons team NOW that we are winning. NO ONE before the season thought we had more talent. no one. so i dont buy that lame excuse for one second. dont bother using it. wade isnt going to win ROY. bron or melo. hes very good but hes not as good as bron or melo.
& to Desmond, most analysts felt that the Cavs had more talent than the Nugz before the season, & that the Cavs would make the play offs. NO ONE predicted the Nugs would do this well in the West- why else are they the biggest surprise of the year on practically every NBA analysts list?
