The Bulls are five games behind New Jersey for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

That point sounds almost laughable given the Bulls' 31-percent shooting Wednesday night against Detroit and current health of the club.

But with five players nursing injuries, a serious Scott Skiles, showing no signs of, say, hypothermia from this region's cold weather, kept the focus clear.

"We're not out of anything in the Eastern Conference," Skiles said. "We still have the same goal that [former coach Bill Cartwright and general manager John Paxson] had at the beginning of the season, and that's to make the playoffs."

He's a coach, and this doesn't overly surprise me. If we were to make it to the playoffs, we need guys like Williams and Davis to step up while Chandler and Curry are out. Hinrich and Crawford also have to play very well for the next months. Is it possible? Yes. Likely? Doubt it.

I don't know how he expects to get there, especially with Curry and Chandler out for an extended period of time. I guess as a coach he has to say this, he can't throw in the towel or he'll be hanged.

If Tyson was there all season we would already be in a playoff spot (not garunteed) The cavs killed us in the paint the other night. Tyson could have got some blocks and altered some shots and that could have been the difference maker.

You really can't honestly say that right now, its not the defence that is lacking, its the offence...shooting is horrible
