Clippers 115 @ Mavs 105 at When: Saturday, December 20, 2003 Where: Amercian Airlines Center, Dallas, TX Time: 7:30 CST TV: FSSW Records: Clippers 10-11, Sixth in Pacific Dallas 15-10, Fitfth in Midwest Probable Starters Steve Nash vs Marko Jaric Josh Howard vs Quentin Richardson Dirk Nowitzki vs Corey Maggette Antoine Walker vs Elton Brand Danny Fortson vs Chris Kaman Injury List Dallas Michael Finley - Questionable Shawn Bradley - Back Jon Stefansson IL OUT Tariq Abdul-Wahad IL OUT Clippers: Josh More Olden Polyence Predrag Drobnjak Key Matchup Antione Walker/Elton Brand X-Factor The way he is playing, its making things seem like that he was the steal of the draft. Clippers better keep an eye out, other wise game could be a blowout. Keys to the Game Dallas - They lost by a point on a last-second Glen Rice shot last week in LA. The Mavericks had won five in a row against the Clippers before that and will be out to start another streak Saturday. They allowed Minnesota to shoot 52.5 percent from the field on Thursday, and Boston was a respectable 46 percent on Wednesday. The Mavs have to make sure to limit the Clippers shooting, and they can pull this one off. Give the ball to Jamson and Walker in the post, and do what you do best, Get 2nd chance points. You lead the NBA in offensive rebounds. Los Angeles - Take advantage that Dirks appears to be giving him problems again. The Clippers have something in common with the Mavs a sloppy record on the road. They were 2-6 away from home going into Friday's game in Houston. The Clippers have a way of stopping opponents from shooting well from the perimeter. Their last three opponents have shot 7-of-51 from 3-point range. Keep an eye on Walker, Nash, Dirk and Howard. If you dont it will be a basketball no-no and you will loose. Make sure they dont get any offensive rebounds, thats what keeps all thier games close. Predection: Dallas stays with 1 loss at home.
Great preview Dee. Mavs easily in this one I think. Josh Howard is the steal of the draft too, he was a great player in College and he is a stud now. Not sure if you'll see Dirk on Maggette, Dirk has way too much length, and I'm not sure the Clippers can handle that. Kaman can guard him inside, but Dirk will murder him on the perimeter.
He would if he was 100%, I think he just needs to rest his ankle, I mean he hasnt been at the top of his game, he played good vs LA, i think thats where he messed it up again, when Shaq knocked him down after that game he hasnt shot above 50% thats not like him to go consective games like that.
Clippers 115 @ Mavs 105 I dont know what to say. By the looks of things Dirk was just Thowring up Shots. I really dont have nothing to say about this loss. 3 game loosing streak and we are about to hit the road. BoxScore Recap
How did the Mavs lose to the clippers at home? The Mavs were like 12-1 at home. I guess you cant win them all

I knew Clippers would give Mavs some trouble.Infact I see them giving all the top teams trouble. Why? Because they have a strong post game. One of the top forwards in this league in Elton Brand...Corey Maggette is a great slasher who can get to the line alot.Score from the arc and overall is a very good all-round player..Q Richardson is also a very good young talent who can shoot the ball very well.He like Maggette is a good slasher.Plus they have other good role players in Jaric,Rice,Wilcox,Kaman who can all score when needed. They also finally have a coach who actually knows how to coach. People laugh about the Clippers but fact is they are a playoff team in the eastern conference.Better than most teams over there.Give them the respect they deserve..They are an up and coming team.
Dirk has been sucking. Nash is the best player on the Mavs imo. Jamison is playing really good lately. Bench Dirk and play Jamison.
^ I have to agree with you there. He shouldnt of came back so early. Its clear his ankle is stll giving him problems.
- The master now that ol' Stock has retired! The Mavs have had nothing but problems with the Clipps for the past couple of years. Dallas' lack of a strong post presence will continue to hurt them. That to me is why they will not get past teams like the Lakers or Kings. With Webber and Shaq on the inside, the Mavs just don't have a chance. Danny Fortson is too small to guard either of those players. Clippers played a great game, Mavs are struggling to survive in the midwest. Without a healthy Nowitzki, I see more of the same ahead.

I blame part of this on Dirk too, they said they wouldnt play him if he wasnt feeling too good, if he said he was feeling good and hes in pain and he is playing, I mean I got to give him mad resepct for doing it, but its only going to hurt himin the long run.
