The Grizzlies do not have enough cap space to sign Kobe even though he might wanna come for a Jerry West reunion. But he wouldn't come. period.

    No. An emphatic no.

Not because they don't have the cap room, which they don't. But West is a good GM. He can clear cap space. Easily. And he could probably package a trade that would benefit LA more than Memphis.

But the fact of the matter is that Kobe isn't leaving the Lakers. Not even for the Clips. Buss will do anything to resign him. Anything. Kobe is the future of the franchise. Buss will even write that into the contract. He isn't the present, which is Shaq. But he's definitely the future.

Buss doesn't want to go through another '94, and with a Kobe on the team he never will. They may not content for 10 years after Shaq retires, but at least they'll be competitive most nights. But if they trade Kobe, or lose him to Memphis, they risk all that. So no, the Grizzlies cannot sign Kobe.

I don't think there is any chance that Kobe will go to Memphis. JW knows this. The only possible way it could ever happen is if Kobe himself makes it happen. I just don't see any scenario in which he would choose Memphis over Los Angeles, not even with his favorite GM being there. Sorry Grizz fans, it won't happen - but it doesn't hurt to dream.

Kobe Bryant will always remain a Laker in my opinion. Why would he want to leave LA? He already has 3 rings, he is already making the type of money he wants. The only possible reason he would want to leave LA is so he can get out of Shaq's shadow and show the whole world how really good he is.

Now with Shaq aging and possibly retiring in a few years, it gives Kobe the chance to be the leader on a team.

Moral of the story is, I like rest of you, do not think he will leave L.A.

I think the Grizz have as as good a chance as anyone to sign Kobe, if not better...simply because of Jerry West, and that West has put together a nice supporting cast.

The Lakers would be crazy not to resign Kobe after he becomes a free agent.

I really don't see him going to the Grizz even though he likes Jerry West.

I agree with Nike here, and plus it doesn't really suit him. Meaning everything in the Grizzlies, the actual team, a team he has no familiarity/chemistry with. It'd seem not ridiculous, but more as out of place.
