Injuries Cause Young Players To See Extended Minutes by Mike Lieberman, Sixers.com <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">http://www.nba.com/sixers/features/injuries_031216.html Injuries have been the story of the season for the Sixers. A total of nine different players have missed at least one game due to injury. This has caused Head Coach Randy Ayers to turn to some of his younger players early on in the season. ?You tend to go early in the year with the veteran players, and as the young players step up in practice you have a little bit more confidence in them," said Ayers, a rookie head coach himself. "With the injuries we?ve had to play the young players, and I hope it serves us well down the stretch." Second year center Samuel Dalembert is one of the young players that has seen his minutes increase, establishing a career high in nearly every statistical category. His breakout game of the season can be traced back to Nov. 7 in Chicago where he set his career high of 14 points on 7-8 shooting from the floor...</div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting choppa22:</div><div class="quote_post">when is ai gonna be back!</div> Haven't you noticed the huge buzz regarding his leave of absence for this period of time? It's been all over the news, ESPN, the internet, newspapers, etc. He has said that he would like to return in the new year, thus missing the west coast trip, but Coach Ayers has said that he might be boarding that plane to the west coast. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">We are looking at (Allen Iverson) maybe joining us on the West Coast trip. I don?t know when. He said it wasn?t any better, but it didn?t get any worse in the last 24 hours. To me that is a positive. He has been rehabbing, getting treatment on it. That?s where we are at right now with his injury? And really, (having) the MRI and finding nothing structurally wrong...it?s the pounding he?s been taking on the knee. The constant bangs he takes on the knee that?s been the problem.</div> Randy's Thoughts
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting The Great No. 8:</div><div class="quote_post">this are today's injured players! i hope the number of injuries will will go down soon!</div> You couldn't have included this in a previous, or post, post?
I hope as well that the injuries will go down, we are turning into the Raptors of last season, if not worse. OT: Leave the guy alone, he is pretty new and is getting accustomed to the features of this board.
Well the injury report of Sixers.com hasnt changed for the last 2 days. Either it still remains the same, or it is a bad source. Anyway, I hope Kenny and Aaron will play against LAC tommorow night, but for some reason I doubt it. This game without a doubt will be the most short-handed game we dont need this season. We have 3 of the 5 starters out (Iverson, Coleman, Thomas) And usually our 6 man when AI is healthy (McKie) is out with a sprained left hamstring.
(12/26) Derrick Coleman - game-time decision, left knee sprain Allen Iverson - out/not with team, right knee contusion Aaron McKie - probable, left hamstring strain Injured List Willie Green - right thumb surgery Marc Jackson - out, left ring finger fracture Todd MacCulloch - foot neuropathy ------------------------------------------------ Great timing for Kenny and Greg to arrive back. They will both start against the LA Clippers tonight. All we need is to get Allen, Aaron, Marc, and Derrick off the list and we will be looking good.
