A head ache for the magic...I heard he thinks he could be coming back in february is that true? and how do you guys think grant hill will mix in with the other guys? what would the starting line up be? will this be better or worst for the magic? ofcourse..all this said by supposing he is back at 100% which wont be true..but maybe for next season..
Screw Grant Hill.. Hes just screwing orlando out of money. I still think his sole purpose for going to orlando was to screw them out of having a decent team. giving up Chucky Atkins and Ben Wallace for him. Atkins has done more than him in Detriot than he's done in orlando. And hes just a backup Point... If Grant Hill never plays again ill be just about happy..

Grant Hill hopefully will come back strong. Right now, he would be deep on our bench. He would probably get about 10 mins. He could be a key part in our playoff run though. All I care about though is that he opts out of his contract and gives us enough money to max someone out.

First of all, Grant Hill did not come to the Magic with the sole purpose of getting his ankles screwed up and having to sit on the bench for 2 1/2 seasons. This is one of the classiest guys in the game, are you just being sarcastic or what? I understand that you might be a little bitter as a Magic fan, but do you honestly think that Hill is "screwing the team" purposely? I hope that the next time he comes back is the last. If he's not healthy this time around and gets hurt again, his career is officially over. I love this guys game, even as an LA fan I've missed watching him play. Not only do the Magic need him back - BADLY, but so does the league. BTW - Don't tell me that you didn't like the deal when they did it. Everyone thought Orlando was pulling one over on Dumars.

Everyone thought Orlando was pulling one over on Dumars.</div> That is the most agreeable statement in this thread. When we traded Grant Hill for those two, I was angry. I thought Dumars killed our team. Well, it looks like he knew what he was doing or he got lucky. No as soon as Pistons get out of their slump, they can have a !
Who knew Ben Wallace would be a future MVP candidate when he left Orlando? Either Joe D is a genius or he just lucked out on that one. My pick for the finals this year : Pistons/Lakers. Indiana might look unbeatable right now, but they did the same thing last year and ended up falling apart. Last year they also had a great center in Brad Miller, now it's just Foster and Pollard. I think Detroit's post defense will win out come playoff time.
Tell you the truth.. I wasn't the biggest basketball fan that time.. And i wasnt really a magic fan at the time.. My sole purpose of not being a fan of Grant Hill is the fact that he was a free agent.. As far as i know, he did the sign and trade deal thing.. Sure at the time it didnt seem much, but Orlando didnt have to give up anything.. I guess i am just blaming him because he signed with detriot and dealed off to orlando.. instead of just signing him there..
I don't recall the exact situation, but I know it was a re-sign and trade. If I'm incorrect, somebody let me know - I believe that Grant was a restricted free agent at the end of the 99-00' season. Any deal he signed with another club could have been matched by Detroit, but since he decided Orlando was where he wanted to be he re-signed and accepted the deal. Thus allowing the Pistons to recieve something in return for their all-star forward. - ZeroToOne50182 If you havn't seen him play, check out some old tapes if you can find 'em. You'll like what you see, I guarantee it. How about a little Grant Hill - LeBron James Head-to-Head rookie stat comparison : Hill : 94-95' - 19.9 ppg. 6.4 rpg. 5.0 apg. 1.77 spg. *FG% - .477 James: 03-04' - 19.8 ppg. 6.0 rpg. 5.9 apg. 1.55 spg. *FG% - .422 Almost identical, other than the field goals. Hill is still only 31 years old, it would be tragic to see his career end so prematurely.
I hope he comes back, but it would be better for the organization for him to quit and just give us the salary. At the time the deal was a no brainer for us. I just wish we traded Outlaw instead of Ben. Hindsight's 20-20.
I think he deserves one last chance, if he's finally healed I think he'll make it this time. In the past Grant continued to come back too soon, this time he'll wait until he's 100% and see what happens. It's not like he played poorly last season in his 14 games. He averaged about 15, 5 and 5. Give him one more shot at redemption, what harm could it do?
