The 6-foot-8 Williams has spent this season on the injured list with a bad left knee. He has averaged 6.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in nine seasons. The Sixers traded their conditional second-round pick in next year's draft. That selection was obtained in a trade with Golden State. In that 2002 deal, the Sixers sent the draft rights for Jiri Welsch to Golden State. Philadelphia received a future protected first-round selection in addition to regaining its 2005 first-round pick from the Warriors from a previous trade. </div> Source
Heck, I would rather have a pick than Monty Williams. Trade does bring some defense to Orlando though.
I would rather have the pick also because I don't think Monty Williams has really helped there team And besides the Magic might get the NO. 1 pick . That probably won't happen but if it did it would be better for the 76ers

I'm sure that the sixers will get just about what they gave in this one.. Does this trade go hand-in-hand with the donell harvey trade to PHX? or did that not happen yet?

I wonder why we didn't just trade Harvey for Monty? Monty played good for us, when he played for us before, but after surgury and stuff. I think Gabe is just trying to get fired now, lol. The Harvey deal has been done.
Get fired, and then screw up the team for the next GM. But seriously, Monty Williams has played hard when he has played in the past. He brings some size to the small forward position, and when he's in Orlando will be a better rebounding and defending team. The real reason he was acquired, however, is probably as trade bait. He can help match salaries, something a draft pick doesn't have.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Sasha:</div><div class="quote_post">Watch him blossom into a role player in Orlando, or somewhere else.</div> Thats usually a case for the Magic... Like Ben Wallace.. Billups... So many more... Gabe is a terrible GM, Like the bucks gm that got dropped last summer.. Hes probably just gonna do what has been said, screw it up beyond fixing for god knows how long.. Then get fired or quit..
Im glad that Sixers got rid of him.He is just like Todd MacCulloch, atleast Sixers will get a player from the draft that can play.Monty may never play again thanks to that injury.
