According to the paper, sorry can't get the link because Orlando Sentinel.com is screwing up with my username. It sounds like the deal is just going to be Harvey for a 2nd. No Archibald. It will get done tomorrow when Harvey's 90 days after he got signed is up.

Sucks for the Magic, but it looks like the house clearing is begun. I wouldn't be surprised if some of their other pine warmers start getting dished. I'd say the only solid blocks they'll hesitate to deal are TMac, Hill, Giricek and Gooden. Everyone else has an open door.
Why does this suck for the Magic? Harvey has done basically nothing in Orlando,he wasn't all that anyway.I'm surprised you even got a 2nd rounder for him.

Harvey was out of shape he couldn't finish around the basket. He would take himself out of the game on most nights. Something the Goose said he would never do back in the old days. Harvey said he had a bad back. Bogans has picked up the slack anyway.

I just wish him good luck in Phoenix.
2 Trades! Monty coming back! 1st deal we all know. Donnell Harvey for Pho 2nd 2nd deal Pho 2nd for Monty Williams GS 2nd So in all reality the deals was Donnell Harvey for Monty Williams GS 2nd Still pretty dumb, IMO. It could hopefully give us a gem such as Rashard Lewis, Gordan Giricek, or Gilbert Arenas in the 2nd round, but with Gabe as our GM we will likely will draft another Jeryl Sasser.
Yeah, im glad Monty is out of Philly. We needed a draft pick so I guess we get the good side. Monty is a good player dont get me wrong, but he struggles to stay healthy. He has been hurt since the game in New Orleans in the first round last year when his knee banged into a Hornets player's knee. I dont know if he sees any minutes with the Magic. Hopefully for you he will.
Hes coming off a injury!?!? What are the magic thinking... Why dont they wait a little bit till they actually see him play, He could be a total bust or could end up like Grant Hill..
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting :</div><div class="quote_post">What are the magic thinking... </div> Good question..Something I ask myself daily. Gabe just happened to make my day with his quote <div class="quote_poster">Quoting :</div><div class="quote_post">Gabriel said he likes having second-round picks, feeling they "sometimes have more value" than a late first-round pick.</div> Link If he could actually select talent the first time around, he wouldn't have that problem.
Gabe is right. Sometimes 2nd rounders do have more value to a team. A first rounder means a guaranteed contract. Which is what teams want to avoid with uncertain players. A second round pick means the contract isn't guaranteed, which means they can be cut w/o affecting the cap.
Yes, that is true. I just find it sad that Gabe can?t pick talent the first time around. Jeryl Sasser, Steven Hunter, and Reece Gaines were the first rounders the Magic selected. They have proved thus far to be nothing but busts. Then on the other hand, the Magic selected 2nd rounder Zaza Pachulia who has played great off the bench. I just don?t like the transaction. The last thing the Magic need is another rookie on their roster. They need more players like Rod Strickland who will provide veteran leadership and step up in the locker room. When the Magic have talent, they trade it. We?ve seen Mike Miller, Troy Hudson, Darrell Armstrong, Ben Wallace, Matt Harpring, and Keon Clark, all come and go. Hopefully Gabe will be the next to leave.
Don't forget Keith Bogans, another 2nd rounder this year. He's been playing really good. Gabe needs to go.
