Skip is still in the NBA because he put all that And1 bull crap to the back burner. I remember when he was with the bucks in his 3 years playing the 3rd string guard Sam & a bunch of backups(like Greg Anthony, Vinny Del Negro), skip use to try to pull off those and1 moves during the actual game. He use to get call for turn over after turnover. Thats why he had no staying power with the Bucks. But when he decided to put that stuff to the background & started working on his actual game that is when he started having some NBA success.

During the offseasons he started working on his jumpshot with Sam Cassell, Damon Jones & a few others. So when he got the 10- day contract with the injury filled raptors last season he was able to prove that his NBA game had improvements in it. He was to show that he can make the perimeter Jumper a respectable clip. And his turnover rate had decreased as well( due to him cutting the some of the bull crap out of his game). those improvement also help him get his current job with the Heat. So everybody that thinks his And1 handles is what is keeping him in the league. I would have to say your wrong. Its his willingness to decrease that style of play & his offseason work ethic that is keeping him in the league.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting L.Sooch:</div><div class="quote_post">Man, how can you not think skip is the best point gaurd?? The guy can take it street and NBA style, he knows he can cross anybody up when he wants and how he wants, but no this guy got class and he dont embarass other cats in games.</div>

streetball is streetball and basketball is basketball, don't confuse the two. crossovers and all that other flashy stuff is great for the fans to cheer but pgs that play flashy games are turnover prone, and they don't become great pgs until they put that behind and become efficient at protecting the ball and creating plays. look at j-will before he went to memphis, tim hardaway before he had the assist-to-turnover ratio clause in his contract, etc. when do you see jason kidd crossover anyone? half of that streetball stuff would be called for palming, traveling, etc, on the nba.

best pg ever was john stockton, no ifs ands or buts.

Statwise no he is not better than Magic or B-Diddy<u>yet</u> but i do think that he will be when he is in his prime, he needs more minutes to put up stats like Magic and B-Diddy they get what 39-45mpg while Skip gets 31mpg, theres a lot more Skip could do with the minutes if he got them.

There is no way that in his prime he will be as good. He is fun to watch but how could you honestly compare him to Magic Johnson? He gets 31 minutes and he puts up some decent stats, however do you really believe that with an extra 10 minutes he could double his assist numbers? Increase his scoring by 50% minimum?

He is fun to watch but in no way can he be compared to the great point guards.

What suprises me most about Skip in the NBA is how well he seems to knock down the long shot. I knew he could dish and handle and all that but I always thought playing street ball took away your long shot. Then again Skip isn't the average street baller. He focused a lot more on letting the other run the show his last couple years, and focused more on standard basketball.

We are not knocking Skip to whatever, he just isn't comparable with Magic Johnson.

He has really worked on his shot because he could hit anything as a Buck.
