<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">DENVER - Los Angeles Lakers (news) star Kobe Bryant said in a televised interview Thursday that he sometimes becomes distracted or scared as he fights a felony sexual assault charge. "You're just ... living in a nightmare and just can't really wake up out of it," Bryant said in the interview, broadcast on ABC at halftime of the Houston Rockets (news)-Lakers game. Houston won, 99-87. Bryant, 25, is charged with attacking a 19-year-old employee at a Colorado resort in June. He has said the two had consensual sex. Asked if he has trouble keeping his mind on basketball during games, Bryant said: "Sometimes it wanders and I have to try to bring myself back to center. It's human nature, I guess." He said he is sometimes "a little bit" scared. "If you can't control, you just kind of have to let it go. And at times that can be extremely difficult but, you know, you do it," he said. Despite the distractions, Bryant scored the winning basket as time ran out in a Dec. 19 game against the Denver Nuggets (news) in Los Angeles after missing the first quarter to attend a court hearing in Eagle. Bryant is scheduled to return to Eagle for another hearing Jan. 23. He faces four years to life in prison or 20 years to life on probation if convicted. </div> http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor..._case_interview
I'd be nervous as hell. I wouldn't be able to concentrate on the court with tha thought of going to prison fo' life. Hopefully tha results of this case will be positive for Kobe.
truely a horrible situation that Kobe is facing. And i hope it all works out well. I reaslly believe in equal rights as to say I mean I think that Kobe should not be looked upon as a star in this case but a regular person that should face regular time for the crime. Sorry Kobe.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Vintage:</div><div class="quote_post">Hopefully justice will be served.</div> Yep, I myself think he's innocent, just the woman out for fame. I just hope things go right and accordingly. Hopefully it won't affect his career or the NBA either, although that's really not important or the case but more of the fact that if he's innocent he deserves to be unbound and free.
He has no one to blame but himself...I refuse to see his point of view and try and feel sorry for him.He has lost a lot of respect around the league and from fans across the world..He has got to be the dumbest human being on the planet to do what he did considering what he has at home.
Remember the R.Kelly case he turned out guilty and did made a hot album and now everyone loves. But the fact of the matter is he's guilty. I say Kobe is innocent though. Some stupid girl sees a chance to get at a superstar just to get her name telvised and glamarous while Kobe's name is televised and horrid. The media gets help from stupid people like her. Kobe your innocent until proven guilty.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Vintage:</div><div class="quote_post">Hopefully justice will be served.</div>Exactly. Thats all I will say, it is not my place to judge or try and say what happened as what do I know? Only Kobe and the girl truely know.

Kobe made a mistake...we all have. It's not something we should hold against him for the rest of his life... just curious...did you feel sorry for Magic when you found out he contracted HIV?

Everyone makes mistakes but not as bad as this..and when people do things like Kobe has they deserve everything they get. Do I want Kobe to go to jail? No... as it would hurt the league badly. However if he did rape this girl then he deserves to rot in hell.
And if he is found innocent, then a big "**** you" goes out to those who would berate Kobe in one phrase while praising Jordan in the next. He would be guilty of only adultery, which is no worse than the crimes that Magic, Jordan, and Worthy committed. Keep in mind that Magic contracted HIV from a prostitute and the latter two had to write large checks to settle long-term affairs. In that case, Kobe's mistake produced less severe consequences than their's, and thus should not be judged any more more harshly
Animus! Great to see you here man! Mods: we have another intelligent poster. Anyway, those are good points. I don't think that Kobe's act is less severe than anyone else's. Kobe did this after his child was born, and Magic did it while his wife was pregnant (frankly, Kobe probably did too). Is a long-term affair worse than a one-night stand? Ask any wife and she will tell you no. While Kobe won't have to write any large settlement checks, he wrote a damn big check for that ring......

If Kobe didn't rape her, do you stil feel he deserves everything he's going through. Like Animus said, Jordan gets a free pass for doing basically the same thing. I feel sorry for everyone involved. I don't know for sure who's right or wrong...all i know for certain is that this is an unfortunate situation

Rape or not..He deserves everything he gets.

All the people profitting merchandise made based on an accusation? You think his wife and baby deserve to be photographed for the sole purpose of seeing if they will stand by him? He doesn't deserve to be assumed guilty, and why does it matter that the girl is 19? If Kobe is found innocent (assuming that verdict isn't based on lack of evidence) do you think that the girl deserves to be put through all of the things that Kobe is going through? If you don't then you are being biased against Kobe, because if she lied I feel that she should be forced to undergo the torture that Kobe is experiencing.

Which alot worse than Kobe has had to deal with.Wether she is right about what he did or not.

Besides, is Kobe the only one at fault? No. The girl slept with a married man. The only difference is that she doesn't have to go home to a family that will be angry and dissapointed in her, and she isn't a celebrity. Even if she is found to be lying, there will be no repercussions. By law, she is a rape "victim" and her identity will be kept secret, even though she has forever tarnished Kobe's career with her potential lie. Kobe deserves the consequences and pain that come with cheating. But his family does not. Assumptions of guilt are not deserved, it is silly to believe otherwise.
His family don't deserve to go through all this but Kobe as I said has no one to blame but himself. He got himself into this mess...and should expect all the attention and hate that has has gotten.I hope he didn't rape her as the NBA culd turn very bad without him..but at the end of the day the view he has gotten from fans around the world should be expected and be understood...
