Surprise no one has mentioned it

-- It was the Boston Celtics turn to stage a big comeback against the Phoenix Suns.

After blowing a 29-point lead against the Suns three weeks ago, the Celtics rallied from 17 points down in the third quarter and beat Phoenix 104-102 Friday night on Ricky Davis' 20-foot jumper with 2.8 seconds left.

Paul Pierce had 27 points, 19 in the second half, for Boston.

"The shot was a byproduct of our passing game," said Davis, who was open on the left side and took a pass from Pierce, who had 11 assists. "It feels great. You know, we never give up."

This was the first major contribution for Davis since he was recently acquired from Cleveland in a six-player trade. At the time of the deal, the Celtics were highly criticized for getting Davis, a noted problem player with the Cavaliers.

Walter McCarty added a season-high 20 points for the Celtics, and Mark Blount had a season-high 16. Davis had his Celtics' high with 14.

Shawn Marion topped the Suns with 25 points, while Stephon Marbury scored 18, Penny Hardaway 14, Casey Jacobsen 12 and Joe Johnson 10.</div>

    Recap

I wonder how long it will be til Davis starts? He is playing better lately.

Was a great shot by Ricky, had perfect form and he looked like he really wanted that shot.

    Great play.

    BC...WHERE ARE YOU?!

What a game and what a shot. Great move trading for Davis. What a stud he is going to be.

You don't need to be a Celtics fan to post news on a game winner.Which is why I was surprised there were no posts about it.

If anyone read the Slam article on him last season. He personally said that he wanted to lead the L in scoring ths season. It's already 30 games in; don't see him in the top 30. The problem with Davis is his ego (Last year with the Jazz, anyone?) He is a defensive liability and bad shooter. Bad move for the Celtics. Danny Ainge is a nuthead.

I agree with one thing you said: Danny Ainge is a nuthead.

I like Davis, and I'm glad the Celtics have him. He isn't especially gifted defensively, but I wouldn't say that he's so bad that it hurts his team. Ainge did well to go out and get a player like Davis, one of very few players with so much talent who were on the trading block. If he thinks his job is finished, though, he is completely wrong. The Celtics need to go out and get some good all around players, and some more big men, too. Ainge can't make up for trading Walker, and he knew that when he made the trade. He's definitely a nuthead.

Back to the game winner, wasn't that great? I'm just so tired of being on the wrong end of games like that, that come down to the last minute. The fans, for sure, needed a game like that.

Ricky probably won't be starting any time soon, Jiri is playing great and OB isn't going to bench him anytime soon, hopefully. Nice shot by Ricky though.

I really like the way ricky davis is fitting in to the lineup. I think he will be a nice addition for pierce to take scoring pressure off. Davis's first point as a celtic was a nasty alley from pierce. The kid is fun to watch.
