OAKLAND -- Troy Murphy got his fifth game under his belt Friday night against Sacramento, after returning from a torn plantar fascia tendon in his right foot. Last season, Murphy started 79 games at power forward for the Warriors.

So, are there any plans to put Murphy back into the starting lineup and move Clifford Robinson to the bench?

"We're taking it one game at a time," Warriors coach Eric Musselman said before the game. "Cliff's done a good job, too. It's been a balancing act. We know Troy is a starter in this league; Cliff's done a great job. At the appropriate time, we'll look at those things."

Musselman has maintained throughout his one-plus year as Warriors coach that he doesn't like to change the starting lineup unless there is a reason to do so. That would lead an observer to believe that as long as the Warriors (13-13) continue to win half their games or so, no change will be made.

"Troy feels like he's ready to roll," Musselman said. "He shot well in Orlando (last Friday) and he rebounded well against L.A. (a 107-98 win over the Lakers on Tuesday in which he got 13). He's climbing back up the hill. (The Lakers game) was a huge jump."</div>

Murphy is now playing great basketball and it is only a matter of time until he is back in the starting line-up. I love Cliffy but he is older and Murphy is our future. Not a bad back up though.[IMG]

Wish Cliffy was still in Detroit [IMG]

Ok he isn't clutch but he at least gives your team a boost that is also willing to knock down some threes.

Murphy is playing very well and getting back to the way he played last year.14 rebounds in 27 minutes? [IMG]

Murphy still isn't in game shape yet. It'll take a couple weeks at least.

That's definitely true. You can't say a guy has his wind yet just because of one game. Once he's more consistent off the bench, then I see him getting that starting spot back. Of course, he has already had some time to start getting into shape right before they activated him. But I agree, it'll take more time than just that.

But Musselman shouldn't keep him on the bench too long either. He's yet to play with Dunleavy beside him in the starting lineup, at least not with Mike as a higher scoring option than himself(meaning last year's 3 starts don't count), and he needs to get used to it.

I can't wait until Murphy is put into the starting lineup, the Warriors will be in full force with a very deep bench, making it even better when Foyle comes back. Hopefully the Warriors will make a serious run at the playoffs this year, they definetley have the type team to do so.
