He did not return to the court and is listed day-to-day. The Magic (8-24) do not play again until Friday, when the face the Heat in Miami. Team doctor Joe Billings said the injury was not related to McGrady's back, which has given him trouble the past few seasons. McGrady said his hip has nagged him for the past two weeks and he aggravated it during warmups. He returned to the dressing room to see if stretching would give him some relief. I never knew him for much of a fighter beforehand, before visiting the Magic forum and getting it cleared up. I've gotten a liking and respect for him as of late. Hip injuries are real hard to come back and play from, I saw it in the Brazillian Tennis Player Kuerten. I just hope he continues to try hard and keep to his great play. He's being alot less selfish lately and abit more courteous and conservative. He may be hurt but seems to be in one of his better states. Hopefully he'll be alright since the Magic need him. More chances for the other players if he's out for awhile though. Maybe someone will get recognized. My main concern is that I hope it'll heal quickly and no permanent change or damage is done. Hips aren't like the knees though are they? They'll heal right? McGrady is one tough cookie, either way he'll be back in his feet ready to help him and his team get back on their feet.
Thanks MJ,we Magic fans appreciate your concerns. I to hope Tracy rebounds from this and gets back on his feet playing 100%.Like you said the Magic need him bad. They've been starting gel lately, plaing team basketball not being selfish. That's how they got their wins and that's how they'll keep winning IMO. Well we hope and pray that he gets better.
I think it would be interesting to see how we play without him for a full game. The Sixers lost Iverson and pulled together a few wins.
I'd still much rather have Tmac, then having him out injured, so I don't really want to see how interesting it would be. We did play a game without him this year. We played Indiana at home, when they were tearing it up and we were on our losing streak. Good news though is that he will have 3 full days to rest it, since our next game isn't until Friday. Hopefully he will be back up to his superstar form by Friday.
Yeah, the Magic are dead in the water without T-Mac. He looked like he didn't belong on the court last night, it was apparent that he just wasn't right. They've got to be careful with him, the most important part of a basketball players game is his legs. If you don't have healthy sticks it doesn't matter who you are, you won't be able to compete. I'd say he'll miss the next game, possibly two, then he'll be back to normal. If not, prey for some Magic.
