If that does happen then it would be lebron's first triple double right? I havent heard about him getting a triple double yet this year.

Yes, it would be his first. He has come so close many times in the past, but has not achieved one yet.

Nets are starting to hit their straps, and as much as I would love to see LeBron get one over Kidd, I can't see it happening here. What a match-up Kidd and James will be however.

Came within one assist last time he was close.

    31, 10, and 9 against Portland

    28, 7, and 8 against the Wizards

I'll just stop looking at these box scores, because he is loaded with games like this.

    ----------

Vegas line just in, Nets -9?

Looks like we are all close in this one, I expect the Cavs to cover this spread though.

I don't think this one will be close. Kidd has finally gotten everyone straightened out. LeBron (6-8) won't have that monster height advantage over Kidd (6-4) either.

You can tell me about how well the new Cavaliers team plays, but the fact of the matter is that they are still not a play-off caliber team. Infact, you may end up seeing Cleveland getting back-to-back first picks. Anyway, I don't want to stray off topic here. Great preview, King James.

I'm looking forward to seeing this, it'll be a chance for Ilgauskas to show his worth for he'll be guarding an offensive center, all Collins can do is shoot, he can't even rebound. What'll be most interesting is how Kidd and LeBron will respond to each others passes. I'm hoping that Boozer will keep Martin down and show how much of a hack he is. I still say Nets though by 3, 95 to 98.

I would expect the Nets to go small in this game, bringing in Harris and playing Martin at the center, just to take Z out of the ball game.

It's what a lot of teams have done against Cleveland.

    Great preview dude.

I agree that they'll have problems with Big Z. However, Silas has a habit of benching Z when he can't keep up. So the key for the Nets is to run and run.

I'm expecting a big scoring game for Jefferson and K-Mart. Jason will get a triple double. If not, he'll be close to it.

Back to more important things in this forum, like the Cavs/Nets game.

Cavs forward Ira Newble is doubtful for this game with a thigh contusion. Eric Williams will start at small forward.

PS: Wow! 30 posts before gametime, unreal.

    ----------

Nets up 20/19 after one, ugly offense on both sides.

James and Kidd do have 4 points and 4 assists a piece though [IMG]

    ----------

Cavs up 43/39 @ the half

James has 10 points, 6 assists, and a board

    Kidd had 9, 5, and 4

Boozer has 6 and 9, with an assist

    Martin has 6 and 8

Nets shot just 35% , 43.2 for the Cavs

Nets have 9 turnovers, Cavs 8

Both teams shooting over 80% from the line

If the Cavs keep this up, they can get a win here, they must maintain this current style of play.

    ----------

    Nets up 71/63 after 3

Looks like the Pacer game all over again.

    James has 12, 2, and 9

    Kidd has 17, 8, and 8, with 3 treys

    Boozer has 12, 11, and 2

    Martin has 11, 11, and 4

    Kittles has 20, Jefferson 14

I am not likeing the disrespect the Cavs are getting from the refs either, this game has been called terrible.

    ----------

    Nets take this one 97/82

Tail of 2 halves in this one, Nets owned the 2nd half with scorching shooting.

The Nets did a great team defensive job on LeBron James, forcing him to take long jumpers with the shot clock running down. Both teams played a tough zone, the Nets just hot their shots when it matterd the most, and man were they hot. It just seemed as if everything the Nets threw up was rippin' the twine, you just can't stop that.

Looks like Lebron had a real tough night with the Nets. I guess they only go as far as he goes. The Nets are a good team though, I wouldn't get too down after this loss.

Lebron had a few exciting moments like the oop he caught from D.Miles. He also showed excellent court vision with his passes. But against a team like the Nets you have to be on to of your jumpshot game, which lebron wasnt tonight. The Nets team Defense did an excellent job keeping him out of the lane. We used the zone more than usual. Jump shooting is still the part of lebron's game that he needs to work on the most. But it will come. The cav that I was impressed with was Carlos Boozer. Not alot of players can battle with K-mart in the low post & on the boards the way Boozer did all night. And I was kind of shocked to see lebron get booed, when most of the crowd was there to see him. I guess he is building that Jordan type of relationship with road crowds. You know where everybody in the gym is really there just to see him but they have to act like they are feeling the home team, so they boo.

I never seen them shoot the ball this well, I was very impressed with the improved shot of Jefferson mostly. This was the 3 point contest, ha, I mean even Kidd hit 4 three's. Martin was just a beast as well, all of those haters that say he is not an all star better back off - just like I have said all alone, he is a impact player, he changes the game.

Yeah Bron did have his first bad shooting game in a long time, but at least getting 14, 4, and 9 helps make up for it a tad.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jason Kidd showed LeBron James how it's done on both ends of the court.

Kidd had 26 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds and played a major part in limiting James to 14 points in the New Jersey Nets' 97-82 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night.

James' point total was his lowest since scoring eight against Atlanta on Dec. 6. The top pick in the NBA draft had scored at least 17 points in his previous 12 games and had averaged 27.3 since Dec. 11. But James couldn't make anything happen with Kidd, Richard Jefferson and Kerry Kittles challenging him every time he touched the ball.

James threw up two airballs, missed two free throws and struggled with his shot, going 6-of-19. He also had nine assists and four rebounds.

While cheered when introduced, the crowd started booing James every time he touched the ball and shouted "Air-ball" when he failed to hit anything.

    James impressed Kidd though.

"He is going to be special," Kidd said moments after the Nets won for the 11th time in 14 games.

Jefferson and Kittles added 20 points apiece and Kenyon Martin dominated inside, collecting 16 points, 13 rebounds, three blocks and five steals.

Carlos Boozer had his sixth straight double-double for the Cavaliers with 16 points and 13 assists.

You can't stop shooting like that. The Nets shot under 40% in the first half, and anded up shooting 48% for the match - that says something. In the third, Kittles could have shot it from the stands, likewise Jefferson and Kidd in the last.

The Darius Miles experiment has to end, it is just getting old.

Monster game for Kidd. He would've gotten that triple double if he wasn't taken out of the game. The Nets are having fun nowadays and that spells trouble for the other teams. The pass that Bron made to Z was great though. But he was clearly dominated by Jason.

Great game by my man K-Mart. I mean, 5 steals? come on...
