<div class="quote_poster">Quoting :</div><div class="quote_post">The East could be as forgiving as it was in 1994-95 when the Boston Celtics made the postseason with just 35 victories. The Magic, who face the Miami Heat tonight, are 6 1/2games behind Philadelphia for the last playoff spot. The Magic have 50 games left. And most likely -- at some point soon -- they will have to give up postseason dreams and make decisions that will affect next season. There are some calls that Magic Chief Operating Officer John Weisbrod has told the Orlando Sentinel he has already made and some that he'll make according to the club's progress: <ul>Johnny Davis, who replaced Doc Rivers in mid-November, will return as his head coach next season. "I don't have any doubt that Johnny Davis is going to be our coach next season," Weisbrod said.
<ul>When it comes to job security among management personnel, Davis is "the safest," said Weisbrod. That means General Manager John Gabriel is on a seat so hot he might need asbestos pants to survive.
<ul>The club, in an effort to clear salary-cap room, will look hard at making trades by the Feb. 19 deadline, especially if they are out of the playoff hunt.
<ul>Magic forward Grant Hill will not play this season -- unless he and his doctors present overwhelming evidence to Weisbrod that Hill's left ankle is better than it ever has been.
"I'm not going to be affected by those things; I'm going to do what I think is right. I don't have any doubt that Johnny Davis is going to be our coach next season," Weisbrod said. "I didn't make the change [from Rivers] with the idea that JD was an interim guy or I'd have gone outside [the organization]."</div> Full Story I'm a Magic fan, but I will find it very sad if they make the playoffs..

So Sad that a team that starts 1-19 makes it into the playoffs... well that is unless they actually do make a trade, win ALOT of well earned games... Then it wouldnt be.. But still.. The fact that a East team that dosnt have a .500 record could get into the playoffs? The east needs some help.. ALOT of Help
i know this is hard to believe but i personally think the magic are gonna somehow make the playoffs they are playing well recently and i think(and hope) ttey will make the playoffs
They won't make it to the playoffs, GUARENTEED! <font color="Blue">Put a little more thought into your posts next time, Thanks -Ice</font>

You never no though any team has a shot at the playoffs in the east. Any team.
We have a shot, but there's no way it's gonna happen if we don't start playing defense. Right now, I don't think we're gonna make them. We are playing sorry defense and our offense is still struggling to find a consistent 2nd scoring option.

If you watched the game against Memphis all you see is the Magic walking back on D. At least they could jog but they walked. Drew Gooden tried to stay on the Magic sided pretending to press for a little while. But mainly that's all the Magic have done was walk walk walk. This and uncontested shots cost them the Game at Memphis and some others ones as well. If we keep on doing these things we will never make the playoffs. IMO
