<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Chaney would love for Williams to remain his starting point guard. The Knicks have been inconsistent at that position, and Charlie Ward and Howard Eisley have been shopped. They traded forward Clarence Weatherspoon to Houston for backup point guard Moochie Norris and have expressed interest in the Bulls' Jamal Crawford.

Crawford's improved scoring, however, makes it unlikely the Bulls will trade him, considering they already gave up lots of firepower in trading Jalen Rose and Donyell Marshall to improve their defense and rebounding.

The Article said it but I doubt that Crawford will get trade too. And I doubt that with the Knicks getting Moochie, they any more interest in seriously trading for more point guard help. Plus it is proven by Crawfords recent play, that he is more fit to play the 2 guard. I think that the Knicks should have tried to make this deal before trading Whetherspoon for Norris. Crawford would have been an excellent fit for the Knicks before that trade. Crawford could have started the game as the point & then shiffed to the 2 guard when Allan Houston went to the bench. Frank Willaims could come in to play the point giving the Knicks a young, quick, athletic back court. You could even play Houston, Crawford & Willaims together vs some teams. With the recent offensive play of Frank Williams Combined with the Talents of Crawford/Houston. That could be a very efficient offensive perimeter. And if you combine Shannon Andersons defensive ablity to the mix that is an excellent overall perimeter 4 core group. A guy like Crawford would take alot of pressure off Houston. But this trade just doesnt work now that the Knicks let Whetherspoon go for Norris. If the Knicks trade away Thomas for Crawford now, then there inside depth becomes a weakness. If Thomas is gone, & spoon already traded that would leave only Othella Harrington as the Knicks legit bigmen off the bench. Doleac is very inconsistent. And the young inside players the Knicks drafted like Mike Sweetney arent ready to play big minutes on team that still has a legit shot at making the playoffs.

I tell you, I would be extremely dissappointed if Crawford got traded. Do they realize how bad the offense would be then? Take an already horrible offense and then take away the leading scorer, and you can just imagine what will happen.

    I hope this doesn't happen.

It wont happen. Other than Crawford, the Bulls don't have a player that can create for himself.

Which means Crawford is staying put for the time being.

Paxson isn't stupid. No deal will be done that ships Crawford out, unless we get a player that can create for himself in return.

Trading Crawford makes absolutely no sense for the Bulls. If Paxson was the GM in '01, the Bulls would have never lost Elton Brand, there's no way he's going to now deal the teams hottest young star in Crawford. For what? Crawford will remain with the Bulls, no question in my mind.

How true, he is the offense, also it'd be bad for the rest, he'd be leaving the likes of Hinrich. He can make a name for himself there, maybe not win, but be recognized.

Yeah, Crawford doesn't need to move. He is the Bulls offense, that would be pretty dissapointing for Bulls fans. If he is going to leave, I at least want to see Chicago get another good player in return. Don't trade with the Knicks! :P

i agree totally if the bulls are gonna trade jamal crawford they need to get someone good in return (maybe allan houston?) because right now jamal crawford IS their offense so if they trade jamal they need to get someone good in return but i do gotta admit i dont think the bullls will trade jamal [IMG]

A lot of these Knick trades for PG's have been thrown out the window now, I still expect Zeke to make more moves though!

Since the Crawford trade isn't gonna happen now that the Knicks picked up Stephon Marbury, I'm gonna close this thread.
