This was an absolutely great game to watch!! Note to the Clippers: Waive Keyon Dooling!! Whenever he is in the game at PG, everything goes down hill. Nice block on Fisher (may have been a no call)
We can't say we didn't have our chances to win. Big missed oppourtunity's, if Fisher hit the free throw it could have been a tie game, then of course the play where Payton drove and got it knocked out by Dooling, but going back into earlier in the game, Lakers missed a lot of big rebounds, committed stupid fouls, and nothing was dropping. Payton and George both had horrible shooting nights, George actually scored 0. Something is wrong when Slava has to take 20 shots(good game Slava), Kobe was doing everything, and he himself played well enough for the win, but his teammates could not step it up. And I hate to make the MDE excuse, but if we had Shaq we would have won. But other than that, I will give the Clippers their credit. Elton Brand was a monster inside, he was unstoppable, we couldn't do a thing to contain him at all. And someone please tell me how Doug Overton was a threat. Q-Rich and Maggette also had good games, Clips were just too much for KOBE tonight.
Never thought I would see the day Doug Overton would completly outplay Gary Payton. He should no longer be called the glove..His defense is on the level of Sam Cassell. Brand with 30 points 15 rebounds 6 assists As expected he dominated....but only took 15 shots. That is weird

Brand went to the line 14 times, went 12-14.
Its a damn shame the officials called the game so badly in the last 30 seconds. I thought Doolings block shot was legit (altho it was extremly close) but that no call on fisher (even tho he shouldn't have been shooting it anyways) and that backcourt violation was just sad. I mean that Fisher save was the play of the game, and yet it only counts as a steal and turnover... It was a exciting game to watch tho, great win by the Clippers. They were just too much inside...

I don't really care about the no call on fishers drive because refs miss fouls...whatevers. The back-court violation was what made me mad. It's sad to see a GREAT hustle play get ruined by a bad call...I mean, what a fantasic save!!! For you guys who didn't see it, Fisher knocked the ball loose, it was rolling towards the laker front court, Fisher picks it up and jumps right before the half court line, and in mid-air throws the ball backwards to Kobe. Fishers body was across mid-court but replay had showed that he jumped before he reached the line. I'm watching the news right now, and Phil Jackson aint too happy about the calls either... BTW, i'm ranting not because the play hurt the Lakers, but more because I hate to see a great hustle play unrewarded. You know what I'm sayng?? I can care less if the Lakers lost...

Good game by the clippers overall. Kobe was amazing he carried the lakers today, Payton didnt step up he looked lost didnt look like hisself. Elton Brand was unstopable. Doug Overton was big in the 3rd quarter,Keyon Dooling had the play of the day but played selfish throughout the game. I would like to see rush in the game more and less of fisher. Fisher Bobbeld the last free throw to make the time even less for the last shot. He makes to many mistakes if it wasnt for his hussel i would say cut him. They said Shaq is doubtful for the timberwolves game as well doesnt look good for the lakers they might end up with a 3 game loseing streak.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting mia_9:</div><div class="quote_post">to me it looked like it was a violation</div> Yea, at first, I thought it was a violation also. But when they replayed it, it was obvious it wasn't a backcourt. I was like "wow, that was actually an incredible play by fish." I agree with you about the Kaman play too. Refs blew a lot of calls down the stretch and that's a shame. I didn't mean to make it sound lopsided...it was just that fish play that angered me.
Whoa chill with the officiating. Lakers lost because they lost, not because the officiating. If they played a better game as a TEAM they could have won, but they couldn't stop Brand and they lost. They had their chances, Fisher's FT, Payton's last second lay-up, other chance. And slava took more shots than anyone one the Clippers?

They had some chances that weren't in their hands, and they also blew the game themselves. They straight up played a bad game except for Kobe, and some work by Slava. That was an awesome play by Fisher, but I thought that he possibly could have stepped on the line, that's not the one that got to me. The one that made me pissed as well as Devean George was the one where Fisher went to lay it up and it got blocked by Brand, no body contact? Oh well, I'm not going to sit here and make excuses, but that was a turning point in the game. Also, not that this had to do with anything with the refs, but the Lakers were so close on that Payton lay in, but great play by Dooling, I was even suprised myself that he was in at a time like that. He was throwing some careless passes, but came up with a big play at the end, I give him and the Clippers credit for their win. Good fun game between the two LA teams.
i agree with purple. Though i have to realise lakers are on a losing streak, hopefully they get on the track soon again, otherwise, it wont only be a third place ... It was still a cool game we have to say
