Quoting :

We'll give Tracy McGrady this much: T-Mac now has more 40-point games on Christmas (three) than Wilt Chamberlain (two) or Jerry West (two). More than anyone in NBA history, actually. He scored 43 points on Christmas 2000, 46 on Christmas 2002 and 41 in the recent Christmas victory over LeBron's Cavaliers

Does he do it on purpose?

McGrady: Hey, other team, Merry Christmas.
Other Team: It's Christmas, again? Damn, we lost. He's gonna drop 40 again.
Other Team's Shooting Guard: ...and I have to guard him...
Other Team's Coach: Don't worry, I won't bench you for this one...
    McGrady laughs maniacally

This is quite the accomplishment for him. I just wish he could do it every night.

But even so, would it really help the Magic? Remember the commercial and the quote in your sig.

McGrady: Droppin' 50, and losing? That's no fun. As long as we're getting the W, I don't care if I only score 5. Well, maybe 35.

yeah great point you pointed out there. The Magic revolve around McGrady and my proof is the loss to the Heat. When they were down by six and Mcgrady missed his three the Magic just gave up. They put there head down and saic uck it. That's why If Mcgrady has a 40+ night it'll spark a fir in the Magic and get them going IMO.

Although each time the Magic have won, McGrady has never scored more than 30 points, although he averages over 8 assists on these wins. I think it is not just McGrady that needs to step up for wins, it is the rest of the team that must make their shots and not get lazy.

It's not t-mac's fault at all. I have been dogging him a lot lately because he hasn't been driving. But it's pretty tough to drive when as soon as you catch the ball a big man comes over and stands right behind the man who is guarding t-mac, so I'm going to cut him some slack in that department. He should avg around 10 dimes a game, but guys just can't finish and hit open shots for him.

Exactl. that's why he gots that big C on his jerseys. it's just him no one else on the Magic that can step up EVERY game and produce some buckets to get this team fired up. That's all they are missing is some fire in them. Put me n the locker room and I'll get them krunk.

We just don't want to win it seems. We definetely have the talent for the playoffs in the East. We are just so inconsistent. We can't be that when our defense is this horrible.

Congrats to Tmac. I think we need Tmac to just get 20-25 pts a game and the team to make shots, so he gets 8+ assists.

Are you sure about that? McGrady is the only player with talent. (Before you hack me for that...look at thier lineup, what other player is able create for another and take over games?) As of late, Tmac's not even playing his normal game. He's lax on defense, shoots the jumpers, and talks trash about his own team.

Gooden has the potential to be something speical, but he's not even in the starting lineup.

Run down the lineup, the Magic are pretty weak.

Juwan Howard, Plays decent basketball, brings veteran leadership. He is terrible for the Magics frontcourt, IMO, he cannot play defense.

Lue, not worthy of a starting spot. He's a solid player who should come off the bench. I still believe Strickland should start because he compliments McGradys game better.

Gordan, decent player, able to knock down the open jumpers.

Center position: The Magic don't have a player worthy of starting. Hunter and Zaza receive limited minutes while The Hammer should come off the bench.

Tracy can't get his own team fired up.

Playoff talks are slowing dying down. The Magic are 8-26 (.235)

If they wanted the playoffs bad enough, they wouldnt be riding a 4 game losing streak.

Talent means absolutely nothing if you don't have players who can work together. The Magic do not have this, and to me this just negates the talent they have. They will need to pull their fingers out and fast, I can't see it hasppening however.
