I think instead of creating a new team next year they should move the Clippers to Charlotte for two reasons: -The NBA doesnt need one more team to stink up the league for four years until they can break .500 -Why does L.A. need two teams?
1) They wont move the Clippers, they are an L.A. Team, Charlotte is getting a team 2)L.A. is a big city, they have 2 teams, get over it.

This is due to the Clippers low salary in addition to its high attendance. Sterling is a stingy man who is bad for basketball, but he is a hell of a business man. David Stern has asked Sterling to move the Clippers to Anahiem numerous occasions, but Sterling has refused. I mean, if he's raking in the money, why risk it and make a change (from a business aspect)...
How were they the leaders in gross profits last year. I can somewhat understand that because i am used to hearing about the Redskins making all this money even though they suck so i guess i get it but where did you see this
Well, I live in L.A. so its quite publicized...but if you want an article, here is one from espn http://espn.go.com/nba/s/2003/0417/1540659.html

I live in Charlotte, and I love Elton Brand, so personally I wouldn't mind the Clips coming here. But its not gonna happen, for the very reasons that notmuchgame listed. But it makes sense to add one team so that the league doesn't have 29 teams, which just hurts your eyes when you look at it. I've heard the rumors about the Anaheim move. I think Sterling figures that Anaheim is too small to support three pro teams(they have MLB's Angels and NHL's Ducks), and he's probably correct.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Purple N Gold:</div><div class="quote_post">Stop making all these wack topics while your at it.</div> This is a very good thread and i'm glad it was created. The main reason that the Clippers moved from San Diego to Los Angeles in the first place was due to extremely poor game attendence in San Diego with right around an average of 4,000 people for 3 straight seasons. If the Clippers are going to move, then they should move back to Buffalo where they first entered the league in 1970 as the Braves. However, I do not think this move would ever be approved by anyone, considering the initial proposal to move from Buffalo to San Diego in 1984 came directly from the man himself, David Stern. The Buffalo Sabres have a terrible losing record, however they still have one of the highest attendance averages in the NHL. Buffalo is a basketball city with deep basketball roots, and if the Clippers are to move anywhere, then it should be back home to Buffalo. The Clippers best season came in the 74-75 season when they finished just under .598 with 49 wins as the Buffalo Braves. The Clippers need an identity of their own, and up until now that has been a losing identity and are made the laughing stock of the entire sports world when Jay Leno makes jokes about them. Regardless of what anyone says, they are overshadowed by the lakers; when a non-Californian thinks of LA, they think of the Lakers while the Clippers are in the back of their mind. The Staples center is considered the home of the Lakers and Clippers just "use" it. Come on now, it's about time the Clippers had a city of their own. Even the name 'Clippers' does not and cannot be traced back to LA, it comes from San Diego's history of being a harbor for clipper ships. LET'S GO BUFF-A-LO!
I think moving the Clippers would be good for the NBA but Donald Sterling would be a fool if he did. There is just too much money to be made in L.A. I mean the Clipps are drawing about 16,000 fans each game DESPITE being L.A.'s JV squad. BUT IF STERLING DID MOVE THEM, I think Anahiem would be a good place. There is already a fan base there from the days when they played some of their home games at the Arrowhead pond. Accord, you make a good point about buffalo, but it's still an unknown market. You are basing their potential on 25 year old facts and their love of hockey. New Orleans was thought to be a good market for ball, and so far the Hornets aren't drawing that many fans. Even Charlotte, a basketball haven, lost interest in their team after a while . I don't even know what happened there. Basically, what I'm saying is that it is a risk.
If the Clippers were to move it all, it would definetley be in California. Clippers have no reason to be moved to New Orleans, period

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Depth:</div><div class="quote_post">Clips should move cuz there just in tha shadow of tha lakers... iunno where they would go tho</div> The Clippers for a few years in a row sold the most merchandise out of any team, including the Lakers.
