<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Magic will likely make a decision Monday on what to do with center Mengke Bateer, acquired from the Toronto Raptors in exchange for center-forward Robert Archibald on Friday. They could activate Bateer or waive him. The likelihood of him playing a role with the Magic at this point is remote. He has yet to join the team. General Manager John Gabriel said Saturday that he is looking to acquire a small forward -- via trade or free agency. If it's a free agent, the player likely would be signed to a 10-day contract. In addition to Bateer, who's 6 feet, 11 inches and 310 pounds, the Magic also obtained the rights to 7-foot-2 center Remon Van de Hare and a future second-round pick from the Raptors. Van de Hare was picked in the second round of last year's draft by Toronto but was not signed. He currently plays for FC Barcelona in Spain.</div>
Why do the Magic look to get a Small forward when they need a center like they need a win. They need it BAD. If the GM sit down and see how bad there been playing and thinks to himself that hey a Center might help this wouldn't even haave come to mind. I hope the crap doesn't go down. It's a bad move IMO.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting jump:</div><div class="quote_post">How about Jiri Welsh? (sp?)</div> Hes been playing way to well for Boston to get rid of him, the deal would have to be pretty good in my opinion. The Celtics are getting something good out of the Walker deal and i doubt they want to give him up the way hes shooting..
How bout Grant Hill? I heard jaminson might be on the block, but we don't have nothing they want I think.
Please don't do a stupid deal Gabe. The only problem with getting a center, TimFlem, is that there are no good ones on the block and if they are, we have nothing to give for them.
