    Hey all,
I realize that the plan is to use SF's software package to track FFL this year so the two conferences can have one big Superbowl, but I don't think it will work (or be easy or fair to everyone) unless the software is available online 24/7 the way Yahoo! is. My suggestion...

    1. Use Yahoo! to run both leagues through their individual championship games.
    2. Input the rosters for both champions to play the final Superbowl using SF's software.

It would shake out like this...

    Weeks 1 - 11 = Regular Season
    Weeks 12 - 14 = Playoffs and each conference's championship game
Week 15 = Ultimate Superbowl (to avoid the resting of players for the playoffs in week 16 that happens ever year)

Doing waivers and trades and seeing available players, etc. via e-mail without looking online is going to be damn near impossible. Yahoo!'s system really is pretty good. Not as good as Sportsline, but hey! It's free!

    What do you think?

I agree. I think that's a good idea to run through yahoo and then in the end (week 17) pit the winners of each league against each other. We can normalize the scoring in each league to make everything consistent.

In other words, I think Kenn has a good idea. I just don't see how waivers/FA signings/trades/roster changes, etc, can be done through PMs and emails. Seems like it could get deep. I've never run a league that way before, so I wouldn't know.

    Anyway, just my 2 cents.

BA used Access who should be able to post both conferences and all players transactions and points as a web page no problem

SF spent some time designing this software, so lets give it a chance.

I am not quite that technologically advanced to post it to the web. If needs be I can keep track of roster. Mind you, if it gets any more complex, I may need to go to Barnes & Noble (2nd shameless plug in less than 24 hrs) to buy an Access self book.

I am sure that y'all won't mind chipping in to help me pay. Right? Checks can be made out to; bA's sarcasm fund (alot like George Costanza's human fund).

    * There will be a website with all free agents updated for the week available to you at all times. Only the requests are processed via email.

    * This program is currently paid for by my other local league, so it's free as well.

We can do whatever you guys want to do. Quite honestly it's more work for me to run it through my software, but the rewards are better. As you would see. But if everyone wants to stick to the old standby, I'm not rockin' the boat. I just don't care for the limitations of yahoo.

Don't sweat it SF. I remember having some difficulty getting everyone to trust the system when my money league stopped hand scoring from the newspaper.

Hey guys, SF isn?t inventing the wheel here, he's using software already in use in other leagues. The transactions will be processed in request/eligible order, just not instantly. The first game is two weeks from today. The first draft was yesterday. Everything will be fine. Right SF?

so how will we know what the waiver wire is? or what if 2 people request a player at the same time?

and were still using yahoo right?

What was that? Oh, I know.... it was the voice of reason. Thanks Chip. Yes, everything will be fine. The website will post the waiver order and I will process all waiver requests on Wednesday night and each night as I get them. Every email will have a time stamp so when it's first come, first serve, no one will get screwed. Have faith Dawk, it's not brain surgery. The program won't leave the team owners blind.

And to top it all off, you guys will get your own roster pages and get to see the site up and running before the season actually starts. If that's not enough to satisfy you, then I'm stuck for the right answer.

As for using Yahoo, I already said that you can if you want, but I know that I won't be. So if half of the teams are using Yahoo and half aren't, it seems like a colossal waste of time.

I'm cool with whatever. The only reason I'm paranoid is because sometimes my Hotmail account waits five or six hours to actually send an e-mail. I'd hate to miss out on a guy because I didn't request him fast enough. I guess I'll use my g-mail account if it comes down to that. That's my only real concern...

Yahoo! has an automated waiver eligibility system and waiting period and trade approval. Does your software have that stuff, SF?
