<div class="quote_poster">Quoting :</div><div class="quote_post">"I'm not surprised we are in first place," said Vlade Divac, with a shrug, after the Kings had claimed another victim Sunday. "I said from the beginning that we have a lot of talent, and the way we are playing now, everything is clicking for us." You have to like that about these Kings. They act as if they knew this would happen -- was supposed to happen -- even while their best player recovers from a serious knee injury, and while many within the NBA universe skipped the page about Sacramento and moved on to Los Angeles, San Antonio, Minnesota, Dallas, for seemingly obvious reasons. The Lakers had four Hall of Famers. The Spurs had rebuilt with Rasho and Hedo. The Timberwolves had retooled. The Mavericks had reloaded. The Kings had no doubts. And, of late, there are few skeptics suggesting that the Kings gutted their roster to reduce payroll, or worse, that Brad Miller isn't worth that seven-year, $68 million contract. They have struggled sometimes, faltered occasionally, yet competed almost every night, all while Webber twitches on the sidelines with an injury that apparently is much more serious than originally thought. And for all the belabored discussion about the difficulty of incorporating new players into a system -- the familiar whine of every NBA head coach with the possible exception of Gregg Popovich, who counters that basketball is a pretty simple game -- the Kings have earned assorted kudos primarily for these reasons: Because they pass, they shoot. Because they truly think team first. Because when they defend more than just a little, for more than a few spurts at a time, they are really, really good.</div> Full Story
It was to be excepted. I never saw the Lakers leading for too awful long, while Sacremento was right behind them the entire time by half a game. They have a great team, and as long as they advance to the secound round, I'm happy.
No surprise here with the way Peja and Brad Miller have stepped up there games. Just wait until C Webb comes back, they will be dangerous this postseason if everyone is healthy.
Ways to Avoid an Embarassing Outing of Pant Pissing 1. Keep your fly open. 2. Make sure you're alone. 3. Get as much out as you can beforehand. 4. Don't wear brightly colored pants. 5. Or don't wear any pants. 6. Make sure they're cheap. 7. Don't tell anyone about it. 8. Clean up the wet spot and take a shower. 9. Don't do it in your room. 10. And not during the first game, either. 11. Have a fresh pair of drawers ready. 12. Practice not pissing yourself next time. 13. What? The first twelve weren't enough?
even with the best record in the NBA, all the talk is about the spurs, lakers, t wolves, and mavericks. the best thing about this is that the kings do not care what everyone else around the league thinks. they know they are the best out there, and that they can take anyone on the court
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting B-Ball215:</div><div class="quote_post">The Sacremento Kings are deadley... i'm gonna pee my pants once Chris Webber returns. </div> LOL Kings are deadly, and I said they will probably be the only competetition for the Lakers in the the Play-offs, only if Lakers are at full power. Play-offs are far away, don't wanna get into that yet. Kings are great, wouldn't be surprised to see them to be unbeatable when Webber is back. Divac-Webber-Christie-Bibby BRAD MILLER-BOBBY JACKSON OFF THE BENCH? Umm...

And no, I don't feel I'm fooling myself, and no, I'm not just some little ignorant Laker fan. The Kings have been one of the top teams in the league for the past 4 seasons, and have they made that push to the ultimate goal? I haven't seen it yet. The Kings can have the best record in the league for the regular season, but come playoff time, they choke. To me, that's what they're always known for. Choking. I'm pretty sure Peja was healthy enough in that 2002 Western Conference Finals, or wait....if he was healthy enough, he would've made that 3 pointer from the baseline right, and not airball it? To me, they could've had Webber in 2003 and they still would've lost. Dallas was just riding high on Nick Van Exel, and with the way he performed that night, he wasn't going to let the Dallas Mavericks lose. Yes, we all know the Kings had opportunities to beat the Lakers, but they never seemed to be healthy? C'mon now. I feel the Kings squad had enough energy on that floor the last 3 yrs to try and upset the Lakers. I'll just say this....once Shaq and Malone get back from their injuries, and cruise into the month of May, and finally secure a spot in the playoffs, Sacramento should be the one that will fear the Lakers, not Lakers fearing Sacramento. Because what Shaquille O'Neal said......"We don't fear the Sacramento Queens."
Shaq says that yes, but he knows who the biggest threats are when healthy, you better believe that. Many have a hard time understanding Shaq's sarcasm. Having Webber back will be huge, just another 6'10" guy like Brad Miller who can shoot, pass, and run the floor to go along with their best player Peja.

I'm not saying Kings will beat Lakers or Spurs in the playoffs but to say they aren't one of the top teams or a threat is crazy.
Yawn..Every year the Queens start out great but falter. I am never real worried about them. Remember: Los Angeles is the new capitol of California!
It pains me to say this, but the Lakers will reign supreme over the Kings come playoff time. Its just one of those things.....the Kings can't seem to shake. Sort of like how Dallas has been bad these past few years(minus this one), but they always beat the Redskins..... Same. Webber, Divac, Miller, Jackson, Stojakovic, and Christie- Impressive. Good enough to beat the Lakers. But where have we heard that before? Last year, the season before, the season before that.....
I can't see the Kings as an inferior team in either the playoffs or the regular season. Sure, they lost to Dallas last year after losing Webber, but it's hard to adjust so quickly. Spurs lost to Philly after losing Ginobili, and Philly didn't do too awful well without Iverson. Fact is, it's a lot harder to win the game your star goes out in than it is afterwards. A team loses motivation, seeing that. But the Lakers are far worse. They have four all star players and future Hall of Famers, right? But who's on their bench? They look for big minutes from all of them, and without one, they should still win, right? Wrong. When Payton got ejected against Dallas, they lost. Immediately after losing Malone, they lost. After losing Shaq, they lost. They have no depth, and that's why they look for big minutes from their starters. But, when teams bring their A game to the playoffs and run the Lakers for all their worth, they're going to get tired and eventually resort to the bench, and when they do, their challengers have a wide open chance. The Lakers are built so flimsy, they could fall over any time, as shown by them dropping four of six (or something around there) recently.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Vintage:</div><div class="quote_post">It pains me to say this, but the Lakers will reign supreme over the Kings come playoff time. Its just one of those things.....the Kings can't seem to shake. </div> Vintage, I'm surprised that you of all people could take this opinion. I'm not targeting you, but the team you follow: the Bulls. The boat the Kings are in is very similar to the one the Bulls from '88-90 were in: getting knocked out of the playoffs year after year by the same team, the Kings to the Lakers and the Bulls to the Pistons. The Bulls lost to the Pistons in: '88 - the second round, 4-1. Hardly put up much of a fight. '89 - Eastern Conf. Finals, 4-2. Now a rivalry, but Pistons are better. '90 - Eastern Conf. Finals, 4-3. The Bulls came so close, and choked! (disclaimer: my comments after each score are purely sarcastic, and don't reflect my own views) Sound familiar? This is the same rap that the Kings get, that they're 'psychologically' unable to beat the Lakers. That's bull, pardon the pun. They can overcome the Lakers, and they will. I've predicted from the beginning of the year that I think this is Sacto's year, and they make a very convincing case for it. Everyone knew the team was good, but how would Brad Miller fit into a team that already had chemistry? But he did. And how could they stay at the top of the pack without Webber? But they did it. They've overcome odds, and I think that they can do it in the playoffs too. Anyone who thinks the Kings are not capable of winning in the playoffs is selling the team short, and anyone who assumes the Lakers will win just because they have the so-called 'Big Four' is making a very lazy judgement, without looking at the overall picture. When the Lakers signed Karl and Gary, I felt a faint sense of deja vu, and wondered where from. And then it hit me. A team did the same thing. The same team in fact, the LA Lakers. Only instead of '03, it was 35 years earlier, in '68, and the team added Wilt Chamberlain to Elgin Baylor and Jerry West. Suddenly the team had the top three scorers, perhaps the top three players in the game, instead of having four of the best, as the Lakers do now. But in the end the team lost. Simple as that. And they lost the year after, and the year after that. The combo, the most talented ever, never won a title. And its quite possible, likely even, that this Shaq/Kobe/Karl/Gary combo won't win either.
Sacramento's window of opportunity closed in the 2002 Western Conference Finals, I don't see them taking the Lakers in a 7 game series. I would like to see how they stack up against the Spurs with a healthy Webber. That said, they deserve whatever division banners they win; leave the championships to the Lakers.

And plus, they're a bunch of talkers and chokers. Like what Bobby Jackson said of the Lakers being scared of them. Why would he say something like that when his franchise hasn't even smelled a championship? And what happened? Lakers went into Arco and beat them. I'm very positive Dallas would've beaten Sacramento even with Webber in the lineup. Two high-scoring teams with no way of stopping each other, and once again I bring up Van Exel. He was too hot in that series finale, and I just feel that he wouldn't have allowed his team to lose. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting allnet:</div><div class="quote_post">If Laker fans can make excuses why can't the Kings? The Kings can't make excuses because time and time again, they end up as a top seed, and later on in the playoffs, they always find ways to either lose to the Lakers, or simply blame it on the officating crew. For Sac-Town, it's just woulda coulda shoulda. I don't feel the "Queens" tag is getting old, I like using it everytime they play the Kings. And I can take Shaq seriously, and he's not just talking out of his ass either....he has 3 rings on his fingers, so why not talk? What can Sacramento talk about but Pacific Division titles? And yes, maybe San Antonio ended the Lakers reign of 3 titles, but we sure aren't scared of them now since they've already beaten them 3 times this year, including 2 at SBC Center.
