It was LeBron James in 2003 and Kwame Brown in 2001. The 2002 pick, Yao Ming, didn't play at a U.S. college. NBA scouts say the most likely top pick next June is Dwight Howard, a 6-foot-10-inch forward from Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy. He's an honor student with guard skills and is unselfish. Can there be a next James already?"</div> Full Story <font size="1">(will need to register)</font>
KJ, i heard about this guy from SLAM (cover: Carmelo) who said that he could be the top pick. This guy may be a next LBJ already talent wise but in terms of handling the media, keep focus and composure, there will never be a brotha like our man LBJ, KJ!!! Look at him, how many young cats with big time $$$ can keep his focus and stay true to himself on and off the court not even players at their mid 20s or 30s are so... look at players who are nearing contract extension, they play so well we wouldn't recognize them, but as soon as they sign the contract they become someone else (e.g. Juwan Howard)... well I guess it's because of pressure and expectations... and LeBron handles all these (maybe trillions the size that of Juwan's) well and at 18!!! That's our man LBJ, right KJ?

I've seen a few players who have real talent, but I don't think have the right mind set or personality. LeBron handles himself like Kobe did up until his legal troubles, and he is only 19. He also has a great personality, which will also help his career a lot. There have been many great talents in the NBA, but I've always thought the ones with the best personality always did the best in the league. T-Mac for example, before Kobe had his legal troubles, could never measure up to Kobe because of his personality (this is how I feel atleast). Michael Jordan also had a great personality, which helped him a lot in his career, along with Magic. I see that same special spark in LeBron as I saw in them. He's going to be great.
Everybody says that but im not sure about this kid cause after seeing kwame ill start to think again but you never i could be wrong . People is talking about Randolph morris too he has more like a Duncan game But IM not sure if he is gonig to teh nba yet.
He'll be top pick unless Orlando gets it. If they get it, they'll draft Pavel, who has bust written all over him. Fits well with our recent draft picks though.
If Orlando gets a top 5 pick they should trade it for an allstar. Cause look at it the top 5 prospects are : 1. Dwight Howard ( only 18 , will take time to develope) 2. Emeka Okafur (will have to play PF in NBA, Orlando has 2 decent PF) 3. Kosta Perovic ( similar to Darko, good coordination) 4. Pavel Podkolzine ( a bust waiting to happen) 5. Loul Deng (Will be an all-star very soon in the NBA, but he says he want to stay at Duke , He says he models his game after G Hill. He also said that he might stay at Duke for another year) All of theese 5 players with the exception of Luol Deng are going to be projects, it will take them 2 or 3 years to have an impact. If I am John Gabriel and I get a top 5 pick i trade it unless Luol Deng enters the draft. But Orlando can get Deng with a 5th or 6th pick, so why waste a 1 , 2 , or 3 pick on him. Trade that to another team and get a player and a lower pick in return. Perfect Scenario for Orlando. They get the #1 pick and trade it to Charlotte , which automatically gets the 3rd pick. Trade the #1 pick and G-Hill to Charlotte for the 3rd pick. Chralotte really really wants Dwight Howard and Orlando really really wants to get rid of Hill's contract. But even then Orlando will have at the most 8 or 9 million to spend cause of Juwans contract. So they need to unload him to go after a big time free agent and no Kobe is never going to sign with Orlando even if Orlando gets 15 million under the cap. The thing is Orlando wants impact players cause they want to keep T-Mac . Orlando would love to trade there top pick for either an all-star center ( never going to happen not enough of them) or an all-star point guard ( possible ) .
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting YaoMing03-04:</div><div class="quote_post">which automatically gets the 3rd pick.</div> Well, actually the 4th pick, but its all good.
sorry about that, but if Charlotte can , they really should try to get Dwight Howard. He will have a chance to grow with the team , kind of like KG did with the wolves.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting starman85:</div><div class="quote_post">Well, actually the 4th pick, but its all good.</div> I don't understand one thing, I keep hearing the Bobz will get the 4th pick in this year's NBA draft. But we don't even know who gets first pick because teams like Magic and Hawks are still playing to lose to get that #1 pick, and the result's not yet out? Is Charlotte getting the 4th pick officially confirmed?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting King James:</div><div class="quote_post">Full Story <font size="1">(will need to register)</font></div> He's like a super-superstar. He has guard skills and is an honor roll student. There's not a lot those players around anymore.
He's got the body of a PF, he has Guard skills and he has good down low skills. Check out www.nbadraft.net and look at his profile. It sounds good. He's also an honors student like Ming said. He's going to be good in this league. You never know, he could be like Amare and Lebron and be ready to have a good season his rookie year and we woulnd't have to wait a couple of years for him to develop.
Nbadraft.net is unreliable , no way Josh Smith goes 3 or Jameer Nelson goes 8. Read the ESPN insiders or e mail the scouts in Europe. They are a lot more accurate than the ignorant collegiate scouts.
Dwight "Physically, mentally, I think I can handle it," he said. "Most people get college degrees to get a job. I would already have a job." -Dwight Howard Makes sense to me. See ya at the 2004 Draft.
I Think all the high school prospects r good you just have to give'em time to play so they can develop their skills and gain experience.
