<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">So Eddie Griffin is scheduled to arrive Wednesday and sign his minimum contract. When could the Nets actually expect him? Figure the end of the month. "Probably sometime on that trip at the end of the month," said team president Rod Thorn of the Nets' trek that starts in Philadelphia on Jan. 27 and goes to Orlando, Houston (for Griffin's former team) and ends in New Orleans Feb. 2. Griffin still is working his way in shape privately and then will work with the team before being activated. "We'll have him obviously do a lot of things on the offensive end, try to get him familiar with what we do," Byron Scott said. "We'll see what kind of shape he's in. If he's not in the type of shape we hope he can be in, then everyday he'll be with Rich [Dalatri, strength coach] also." </div> New York Post
This great to see he is a much needed addition. To bad were not going to get much press for this move with Marbury coming to town over at the garden. I think we would win the East without Griff. But his size will help us out if he doesnt just stand around throwing up 3's all day because we have Rodney Rogers for that.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting The Black Widow:</div><div class="quote_post">Lets all hope the cats poor attitude is corrected if not it can be bad for NJ. A real disruption.</div> It wont be bad for us it will be bad for him. He is playing for a job in the future, so if he doesnt act right he just wont play. Look at Rodney Rogers he hasnt lived up to expectations & he has gotten replaced in the Rotation by Brain Scalibrine, so if E. Griff doesnt live up to expectations he can get replaced. I dont think on court expectations are going to be that high for E. Griff. All that wil be expected for E.Griff is to stretch the defense with his jump shooting range & help K-mart compete on the glass, thats problably it . I dont think anyones expecting him to drop double digit points. I think he just has to be solid & be a positive contributor on court & in the locker room. If he does that then hell be just fine. I have faith in E.Griff. The guy has so much talent that he displayed at seton hall, maybe coming back to Jersey is the best thing for him. And I think he believes that as well, thats why he chose the Nets.

Just because he aint on the floor doesn't really have anything to do with a disruptive attitude off the court.

Isaid that he will be expected to be a positive in the locker room. The Nets are a vetran team. We can deal with any possible antics E. Griff can bring. That why Rod Thorn even said that wont be a problem. And I truly dont believe E.Griff will be a problem. Where giving him a second chance to prove himself. If he messes up in Jersey he will never get a job in the NBA again, anywhere. And I think he is smart enuff to know that. Do you really think he wants to end up like J.R. Rider or someone like that.
He signed up for less than 500,000 dollars...the risks are very minimal...besides, if there's one team who can still play after locker room or practice controversies, it's the Nets...Jason Kidd will take over any controversies and it will be all over...it's like conflicts and shouting matches motivates them....hehehe...look what happened after the Zo and Jason Kidd shouting incident... Henacy is right...i'm sure he realizes that this is his last chance to be in the league...i'm sure he's happy that he's given another chance...plus...he'll play back up for K-Mart and Jefferson...and i'm sure he's better than Rodney "im a big guy but i'd rather shoot the three" Rogers...

Griff could possible bring. The nets arent one off those young teams like the Cavs, who have to worry about negative locker room problems. Our core group of players know that what ever happens in the locker room stays in the locker room. And on the basketball court we are a team of one. I mean we made it all the way to the finals in 2002, with K-mart & Kieth Van Horn basically not liking each other but we didnt know till after the NBA finals & Van Horn was traded. Why? because they keep their differences in house & played as one on the basketball court. I mean their playing right know with a coach & a star player that dont see eye to eye.But they got their diffences out & now their back to killing the east again.
hahah...I know what you mean...everybody knows that Kidd wanted to leave NJ before and join the Spurs...everybody knows that the team might move to Brooklyn and Kidd doesn't like this..everybody knows the Kidd doesn't like Scott...and that is just the tip of the iceberg...everytime they get on the floor, everyone knows their position...Kidd's still making those behind the back passes as if he has eyes behind his head...everybody's high fiving one another...everybody's having fun... so as long as Griffin doesn't hide everybody's jerseys and shoes, we're all good...
