do you think that the sixers will ever win a championship in the up comeing years!!

    Yeah, I think they will.

They will have to get some better players that can work as a team and get the job done!

Yeah definately, Iverson's a great player, and he creates alot for them, but they need something else, a few more scoring options down low maybe.

Not a miricle its possible. We proved we could get there with Mutumbo (sp?).

Just a good big man, thats why I wanted Sheed, but I also want someone who has some shotblockin power inside them.

Imo Sammy-D can be that big man we need,he has showed that he can block shots and rebound, also he doesn't want the ball so much so imo he's a perfect center in the coming years to have [IMG] ..I think we need a better PG who can hit a jumpshot,I don't have anything against Eric cause he can handle the ball and pass it very well but please he's already 30-32?

True, hes only 22 and he has time to develope. But he needs to gain some bulk and be a better force. He has the height, he has long arms, and he has proven he can block as you said.

I was thinkin of someone more versitile tho...

What do you mean as in upcoming years? Sixers aren't even a top 5 team in the East, and the West will be dominating for years to come. I don't see them even making it to the finals anytime soon unless they get a couple more good players to play with AI.

I don't think the Sixers have a chance to go really far as to reach the Finals in the next few years, even five or so. What we lack is someone to help Allen, we got Glenn but he has not shown that intensity that he had shown when he was in Milwaukee. We have been looking for someone to team up with Allen for a long time now, 6-7 years and nothing has happened. I guess the front office doesn't get the memo. What we need is more defensive sound players, we already have some in Allen and Eric, but we don't have a true post presence, an a true defensive presence at the forward spot. Until we get that fixed, a Finals appearance is nowhere near.

Look at our 2001 trip to the Finals, we had five really fierce guys at the defensive side: Allen, Eric, Aaron, Dikembe, and George (Lynch). But what did we do the next year, we traded Lynch in order to get Derrick, and look how much it cost us. The explanation for Aaron and Dikembe, is simple, they're getting older, so thus is the reason they cannot play defense as well anymore. Picking up Derrick did not help us in any way defensively, but offensively, and now that we have Glenn, we are looking like a more offensive sound team, rather than a defensive one. Remember the phrase "defense wins championships," well it's so true, when we had defensive players we reached the Finals, as soon a we dropped them we can't get past the first round!

It irritates me when I hear people label Billy as a good GM, he obviously hasn't done a good job. Allen is fine with the pressure of having everything on his shoulders, and he is NOT looking for help offensively, but defensively. Adding older players will not help us in any way, we need younger guys, and bigger guys. Rather simple Billy!
