I know this is in the trade rumours but I digress.....

I think this is one of the worse moves for the suns. Marion is special player and to get rid of him in Phoenix is not a good idea at all. He is one of the top players in the league right now and he is only going to get better.

What do you guys think? Is he worth losing?

Sure, I'd trade Marion... for Garnett or Duncan!! If the trade is something in FAVOR of the Suns talent, then sure, why not? But if it's just to dump some salaries, then forget about it. I'm tired of Colangelo dumping contracts because he's too cheap to pay up. He's going in debt with the D-Backs cause he pays them $100 million, then realizes his mistake :P

Marion's an All-Star so they would HAVE to get an All-Star which would contribute more than Shawn Marion... and I'm not just talking on the court. Marion lives in Phoenix, helps out in the community, signs autographs for fans, and is the most likeable Suns player. Also he doesn't have speaking problems like Marbury and Amare... I guess it's because he actually was at UNLV for more than a year (in Amare's case, he didn't attend college).

So it would be a huge loss, talent and fan base speaking. When Barkley and Majerle were traded and KJ forced into retirement (Jason Kidd trade) the Suns took a huge hit to their fan base, from sell outs to casual fans. Marion is one of the good guys we can relate to, and I'd completely lose all faith in Colangelo if he makes that insanly idiotic mistake of trading "The Matrix" -- oh and he's marketable!!

Shawn Marion has done nothing but conduct himself in a respectable manner both on and off the court. He has brought his game every night for that franchise, he is the sort of player you can build a team around - I have nothing but respect for Shawn Marion as a player and a person, and I don't think the Suns would be better off by trading him.

Im pretty sure the suns planned on keeping him when they signed him to a 7 year deal. Anyways Marion is the best player on that team, and any trade the suns would even think of making involving him better have an immediate effect instead of trading for picks or cap space. The suns won't trade marion.

"The Matrix" getting traded? No way. I agree with scorbutic. I'd trade Marion only for KG or TD. Marion is a rare gem.

I agree with scorbutic, trading Marbury away was bad enough but trading Marion thats just plain stupid he an allstar and atleast a 10 and 10 guy everynight. Depending on how many minutes he gets a game he produces. Amare, L.Barbosa, Dyess, and Marion are gonna be a great team in the near future and Marion is gonna be the one the team is built around.

I'm pretty much going with the concensus here. However, I don't see any reason for the Suns not to listen to deals that teams have to offer. There has been no sign that Marion will turn into the go-to guy the Suns need in terms of creating for others and himself, so if a deal has someone on Marion's level who can do what Marion can't, I think the Colangelos should atleast entertain the idea of making the trade.
