But the Net coach may have to get in line with a bigger check to obtain the services of the ex-Knick point guard. While Ward's agent, Craig McKenzie, maintained that "New Jersey is obviously a viable option because Charlie doesn't have to move" [from the metropolitan area], sources said Ward, who was waived by the Suns on Tuesday, is seeking a two- or three-year deal and that might send him to the Rockets or Spurs. </div> New York Post
I hope to God the Rockets get him. This would solidify their backup problem, and signing him for 2 yrs at 5 million or so wouldnt be so bad. His is a veteran backup who can shoot and plays great defense and has playoff experience.
Well considering that he's a long time resident of New York, I feel that he'll choose NJ so he doesn't have to move. That would help him and his family. Or am I just trying to convince myself that he'll sign with us?hehehe
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Nylex:</div><div class="quote_post">Knowing JVG's system is a bonus too.</div> Yeah, I agree. You can't forget he was Pat Ewing's teammate as well.
Depends what he wants To be near his family OR To have a chance at a ring If he wants the 2nd option...then he will sign for S.A...otherwise NJ is the place he will go to.

Ward would fit in real nice in SA. Especially with the way he dishes the ball off. He'd get a lot of assists in a Spurs uni.

That's great news, I look forward to watching him contribute to the Spurs. He's a very hard worker and will add some great offensive capability not that the Spurs don't have any. They're a great defensive team so this is a nice change of space. Good luck in the trade, hopefully all goes well.
