I know it probably wont happen... but now that Marbury is now in the East, don't you think that Cassell deserves the backup spot for sure now. No disrespect to Nash but I think Cassell is clearly the PG to have out West.

If he doesn't make it then something is certainly wrong. With Marbury now in the east Cassell is the best point guard in the west. His numbers prove it.

Did you forget about Nash, Francis, Payton and Parker?

Nash-still a good PG but still isn't having a better season than Cassell
    Francis-Isn't even a PG,so he shouldn't even be considered
Payton-He can still run the offense but to me he is nothing more than a broken down has-been (or is certainly playing like it lately)
Parker-Playing good basketball and is a darkhorse to get in but Cassell has the better all-round numbers while racking up the assists

    Anymore questions?

Well if Francis isn't a PG why is he the West's leading POINT GUARD then. Also, look at the talent Minny has. If Cassell was that good, why was he never an all-star with Milwaukee then?

The fans want to see him starting thats why.He is a highlight reel....A guy who has high flying dunks.People like the way he plays

But he isn't a point guard. He doesn't run the offense in Houston..If they had a real point guard their record would be much better than it currently is.Francis is a shooting guard thats his true position. However because Houston don't have a true or good enough point guard he has to play there.

As for Cassell at the Bucks

Sam has always been underrated by many people, also the fact he isn't having as great a season as he is this year.

Vince Carter was voted a starter in last years all-star game did it mean he deserved it? NO... so don't bring up "Francis is the leading point guard" rubbish It isn't a valid point.

Vince Carter was an AS last season. If you cant figure out the corrolation then you do not deserve a futher explanation.

Why wasnt Nique named 1 of the 50 greatest, why didnt Garnett win the MVP last season. We will never know... it just doesnt happen. Cassell deserves a spot on the ASG. Period.

Bottom line is that Cassell deserves a spot. If he doesn't get it, it's ok, but we all know he deserves it. But his chances increased immensly after the Marbury trade, so there is no doubt in my mind that he will make the All-Star game.

Cassell has to be an all-star this year. Nash and Parker are not all-stars this season. Francis and Cassell. You might say that Cassell has been the best PG in the entire league next to Baron. GASP! Better than Franchise!?! Yep, especially since Van Gundy has decided to play with a deflated basketball this year (with exception of the decapitation of the Knicks tonight). I do agree that Francis never will be a true PG, but I do give him the credit he deserves as an all-star.

Too bad he never seems to get the recognition he deserves, hopefully there are a few people smart enough to get Sam into the game this year. He's not a flashy player, he just gets the job done and helps his team(s) win. Bottom Line. Sam may be overlooked again, but the joke is on them. He still has more rings than most players in the league - who havn't played for the Lakers or Spurs. He led his team to a title as a youngster in '94 with Hakeem, and he might do it again this year with KG. He even came within a game of taking the Bucks to the finals, along with Ray Allen. Sam is shooting over .500 from the field, while taking 16.5 shots per game! Cassell is an all-star without an all-star name, always will be, true fans of the game know.

 Iam speechless, but I will say this sam is going the league can no longer deny. The one thing that people said about Sam in the past was that he worried more about getting himself off than his teamates. And on a team with Ray & Glenn Robinson coaches kind of looked down on sam for trying to do it all by himself on the offensive end. But with the t-wolves Sam hasnt done that. There have been moment where you can question his shot selection. But nothing out of the ordinary that would cost the Timberwolves a chance at a victory. Also the thing that the coaches would have to play attention to is the growth in Sam's game this year. Their have been games where Sam has been on fire but he didnt abandon his teamates in the process. He has actually differd to a guy like Sprewell(even on sprewell's off nights)just to keep the chemistry up between the big 3. Old Sam would have taken every big shot when Ray &big Dog where not shooting well. He didnt try to make them better in those situations. But now he does, so the coaches have to respect that. And this season Sam is showing more effort on the Defensive end. No, he isnt Gary payton on D.But just seeing Sam give a legit effort on that end of the court is still impressive even if he gets lit up. Everything about Sam's game looks alot more efficent this year compared to past years where he should of went. So the coaches have to respect that. Great job ogshowtime.

I'm so glad when people appreciate people who are rarely ever recognized. Not only is Cassell a good player, but he's fun to watch. He's a really nice and fun fellow. Watching the likes of him playing with friends is pure joy, it's true, honest and fun basketball. If he doesn't get anywhere with that, it would be a darn shame. His friendship with KG and Spree are one of my favorites along with Magic and Bird. Great post OG Showtime, about Marbury though, I'm so glad he's gone. He's a good player and no longer a ball hog, but he'd never take second string to KG, Cassell and Spree want to win, not to be the stars. That's the difference. Cassell you rule!
