<div align="center"><u>Details</u> [20-14]<font color="White">||||||</font>[16-19] When: Friday, January 9th Where: Wachovia Center: Phildalphia, PA Time: 7:00 P.M. The Philadelphia 76ers could possibly be without one of their starters, Derrick Coleman who is listed as a game time decision due to his knee sprain. <div align="center"><u>Analysis</u></div> The New Jersey Nets are coming into this game with a record of 20-14, and will try to keep up the same kind of aura they presented in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, except of course for the Kenyon Martin/Corey Maggette incident. The Nets have had a slow but effective turnaround as they are now in first place of the Atlantic division. The Philadelphia 76ers however are coming into this game with a record of 16-19, and also will try to keep up with the same type of intensity they showcased two nights ago when the Clippers came into town. The Sixers have recently been in a slump, this is due to the absence of their superstar player, Allen Iverson who missed 10 games due to a knee injury. The return of Allen Iverson is a huge plus for the Sixers, their leader however is not in top-notch shape to score in high digits, so any type of hustle playing from bench players as well as starters should be appreciated. <div align="center"><u>Key Factors</u></div> The key factors of this game as in any other Sixer game is for Allen Iverson to get the ball early and keep some sort of streak, however that may be a little difficult. Allen has recently been activated from the injury list and is still not back to his old self, and will take some time to get used to the flow once again. This means that he will need help, now more than ever. So starters like Glenn Robinson and Derrick Coleman must step up offensively at least in order to get a win against a Martin-less New Jersey team. Starters will not be the only ones needed to take the pressure off of Iverson, the bench players will play a huge role in this game. A Kyle Korver or a Willie Green must be able to step up, and step up huge as a bench veteran, Aaron McKie is injured. Injuries have been the case all season for the Sixers, from Glenn Robinson, to Allen Iverson, and now Aaron Mckie, however somehow they were able to pull through this and remain a top three Atlantic division conference team. Without Kenyon Martin in the New Jersey Nets lineup, the Sixers should get some kind of advantage inside, and will need to keep a rotation going with Derrick Coleman, Kenny Thomas, and Marc Jackson in order to balance out player fatigues as well as minutes for each guy. <div align="center"><u>One-On-One</u></div> <div align="center"> </div> The one-on-one matchup will be against Allen Iverson and Jason Kidd, although either are not guarding each other, they will attempt to outplay each other for the win and the SportCenter highlight. All of us know what type of players Allen and Jason are, explosive. Jason Kidd, the core of the New Jersey Nets and their leader will look to get started early, dishing his crazy and secure passes to Richard Jefferson for the easy two, thus we must keep both on lock. Allen Iverson will also play this type of game, which will include many passes as both are in the top 20 assist leaders board, Allen will early on try to get his teammates involved. Later on during the end of the second and early beginnings of the third round, look for Allen Iverson to exploide scoring wise, and get his team on top, or extend the lead, whatever the case may be. <div align="center"><u>X-Factor</u></div> <div align="center"></div> A likely backup to Glenn Robinson, Kyle is a rookie with a veterans play, and enthusiasm. He is one of the bench players that I said will need to step up, and thus is why he is chosen as the X-Factor. He is a hustle player, he will hustle with the very best of them, and if needed will knock down the open jumper. Famous for his many threes, and a pure shooters arm, around Philadelphia look for him to get the Sixers spark going. <div align="center"><u>Special Events</u></div> <div align="center"></div> Throughout the season, 76ers fans will be able to collect a miniature bobblehead set. Eric Snow is the first of six players that will be featured. Each miniature bobblehead doll will be handed out separately to the first 5,000 children 12 and under that enter the Wachovia Center.
This one will be a duzy. But this one will go to who ever is hunger and gets the most points off thier star player by 5
Long read... but good anylasis. I like how you set it up btw. I like the X-Factor. They had an interesting stat on him on SC the other day. He has more 3pt FGs than he does regular FGs.
Great Preview Sasha The Nets will win this one easily. They are one of the best teams when it comes to controlling the tempo. Philly doesn't have great passer or ball handlers, which will result in steals leading to fast breaks. Obviously the Nets will be trying to prevent AI's penetration, but they will also have to play hard D on Glen Robinson due to Kmart's suspension.
Nets miss Kenyon Martin so Sixers by 12 EDIT:Glenn Robinson is tearing the Nets up in first five minutes as he has scored 9 of 11 points for Philly!
It's a tough one to call. It would really depend on how much AI would score. I'm guessing that he'll score on the low to mid 20's although I'm hoping not coz I need his scores on my Fantasy Team. hehehe. Train should step up and at least get a 10 and 5. Rogers should not shoot those threes and the Nets perimeter defense should prevent the passes to the low block. Oh, and try to contain AI of course. Nets by 3.
Thank you guys! TrailBlazer76, how can you say that. Eric and Allen are one of the best passers and teammate involvers in the eastern conference. Allen's points per game have dropped because of this, and Eric speaks for himself, he is the 6th best in the NBA assists wise. About containing Glenn, they haven't done that so far. Glenn has 15 points so far, and the first quarter isn't over yet! Eric has put in his fare share also, with seven points and three assists. The rest of the team including Allen hasn't scored yet, except for Derrick's two points. The Sixers lead by nine (24-15) with 1:19 left to play. Let's go Sixers!
When they have a heathly team Sixers are DAMN TOUGH...they have a good balance of inside, outside play that can give teams problems on both ends of the court.Nets really needed Martin for them to win this game....
Glenn now has 24 points. To all the haters who say that Martin is not important to the Nets, watch this game!
Game Update At the half of the game the Sixers are leading by 17 points. Allen can't seem to find his shot as he is 0-6, and has only four points, thanks to free throws. Glenn Robinson is still going strong with 24 points, and 4 rebounds, a stellar performance. Eric has nine points and 5 assists. Seems as if Allen Iverson isn't alone at finding his shot, the whole Nets team is having trouble: Jason Kidd: 2-9 Kerry Kittles: 3-7 Richard Jefferson: 2-9 Rodney Rogers: 1-6 Jason Collins: 3-6 Brian Scalabrine: 0-2 Lucious Harris: 0-2 Seems as if the Nets are doing everything wrong and the Sixers are doing everything right. The Nets are shooting 30% to the Sixers 50% on field goals. If everything goes down for the Sixers in the second half as it has been going in the first I believe we will get the win. Go Sixers!
Hey man, nothing much, just trying to follow this killer game! That stinks though, four fouls for Glenn, he really has to watch it from now on. Also Allen has missed one more shot, and still has no field goal, grr!
72-55 Sixers Less than 3 minutes left in third. Philly is shooting 60% from three point land. btw: Sasha that a bad preview, best one i saw on justbball so far.
Iverson for the three...it's good! Allen has scored 5 straight field goals so far, it seems as if he is taking charge, let's see what happens. Glenn hasn't scored yet.
70-85 Sixers 7 Left in fourth. Iverson has a double-double (10 points and 10 assists) Robinson just picked up his 5th foul.
You were right Kosarkas, Allen is coming through in the 4th quarter, by a whole lot. He is on fire, where Glenn left off, he has picked up. He has a double-double with 17 points 11 assists and 5 rebounds. Eric also has a double-double with 16 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds, maybe a triple-double? The score is 97-79 with 1:15 to go, and Kidd seems to be injured!
