I just received a response to my e-mail from the NBA! They asked for my phone number and a good time to call . I'll definitely make sure to keep you all updated as to how this turns out and if the NBA plans to do anything about this. Looks like i'm finally getting somewhere...

you can try flipping over to sunshine network or TSO and Fox Sports... and NBA TV..all channels around 600 - 700 are from both local places where the heat should be playing..for example YES channel if they are playing in new jersey...

Really nice guy from the NBA legal department just called me and explained to me all the blackout rules and whatnot and he said that just going by what i've told him, the Heat games should not be blacked out for me on League Pass. So tomorrow he's going to look into this more and decide whether games should be blacked out for me or not and he is going to send a legal notice to DirecTV informing them that I should not be blacked out . He also said that everyone in the same zip code as me is also being effected as well. I'm finally getting somewhere .
Demand monetary compensation (or a free year of League Pass), especially since it sounds like you are under contract.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TD21:</div><div class="quote_post">Can anybody explain me what is a NBA league pass on Direct TV?</div> It's a subscription service that lets you watch every single NBA game every single night, even if they're not being broadcasted on a major national network like ESPN, TNT, or ABC.
i know exactly how you feel man, sometimes raptor games get advertised as being on the local sports channel, and then for some reason the game is restricted to a local 25 mile radius for viewing only! that makes absolutely no sense at all! if they black out games so that fans will still go to the game, then its retarded to black out the people that live 150 miles away from the city and let the local audience view the games...that makes absolutely no sense what-so-ever luckily i have a huge sports package with my digi satelite, so i still get to see every raps game, but sometimes if a game is advertised, ill say "oh i can just watch it at my girls since its on the local station" then i get there and its blacked out! bastids!!
what's your zip code? if you don't mind -mine is 33138. i doubt it has to do with zip codes, satellite transmissions don't care about what zip codes you are, only the dma (demographic metropolitan area, i think it means) that's why when they tell you you'll get the local channels sometimes is from another city in the same dma (i get west palm beach). i'm having the same problem with my league pass and i've never gotten anywhere with direct tv. i even wrote the heat once. altough i travel a lot and i can't get to watch that many games. one thing i do when i'm at a hotel somewhere is hear the games on the nba website.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Accord:</div><div class="quote_post">I have Miami Heat season tickets which are in the 6th row, I go to every single Heat home game. The reason that I got NBA League Pass on my DirecTV was so I could watch the Heat and follow them when they were on the road playing in other cities.</div> Thats pretty messed up man. I would try to contact the NBA on this one, but I dont know where to go. You have to be a true Heat fan to get season tickets. Thats a true basketball fan right there.
I would have provided an altimatum. Fix it, or give me a free year of service. I've never really been a fan of the Heat (until this year, actually), but I know if my Spurs were ever blacked out, I'd be pissed off at unfathomable levels of anger.

I have NBA league pass. The Sixers games are always blacked out. But they also show them on our local sports channel to so I guess that isn't that bad. I thought that was how it was everywhere... Alot of times [I'm not so sure if they do this anymore... I don't really pay attention], Sixers home games that were on TNT would be blacked out too.
