Why in the world did ABC introduce the floor cam. This has to be the worst invention in sports television coverage. This gives no new insight into the game for anybody. I think most people will agree with me that they do not want to look up the shorts of all the players. If anyone has a reason to why they put this into the arenas please tell me.
yeah, i hate that view too... your way lower than the players so it isn't really a players-eye-view... there's no point to it.
I agree with both of you 100%. It adds no value. The best "new" camera angle is the one above the backboard. I like the camera that moves w/ the players up and down the floor.
Well....i kind of like the floor cam....especially when they got them real baggy shorts on. ha ha ha ha
Yep, the floor cam is horrible. It almost ruins games for me, they need a switch bad. Only if they knew.
I never thought I'd look away from a basketball game for anything. Buildings could blow up, my house could catch on fire, and I still thought I wouldn't look away. However, I have to look in the other direction every time ABC shows me an up-short view of Shaquille O'Neal. If up-skirt is a type of pornography then howcome up-short isn't? How about a floor cam under the cheerleaders? Wouldn't that be the same thing? They put micraphones on players, so why not cameras? Wouldn't it be fascinating to see what Kobe Bryant sees on the court?

That would truly be a sight to behold- the game through the eyes of a player.
The "Action Camera" that is always used on NFL games shown on FOX is definitely the best camera view in all of sports. They have an entire wire system right above the game with a camera floating, it's fantastic. If they could do it in a massive football stadium, then it would be very easy for it to be done in a basketball arena. That is the one camera view that actually puts you into the game and makes you feel like you're on the field/court.

As far as the floor cam, it is pretty inappropriate, but I don't care that much. It's just a camera angle, and they don't show it for that long.

Oh yeah, by the way, All NBA players wear Compression Shorts under their game shorts, so you will never see anything.
There is no reason for all you guys to be complaining about the floor camera. They rarely ever use it, almost everytime it is used it's during a replay to show another perspective of a sick dunk or an awesome play and it's pretty damn cool. You guys complaining are just trying to find every little thing to nit pick about, because there is absolutely nothing wrong with the floor cam. It's not like they broadcast the entire game with that view .

ABC did bring us a good camera view with that sky-view that moves above the court.

They'd likely just show you the footage of big plays through that angle.
