Which current NBA players do you think would be cut out for a coaching position after they retire from playing and actually pursue a coaching position?

I'd have to say Scottie Pippen, Jon Barry, Brent Barry, Reggie Miller, Sam Cassel, Jason Kidd, Gary Payton, and of course Bimbo Coles. All of them would make great coaches, but as to which of them would actually attempt to become one is beyond me, though I do feel out of all the people I listed, Scottie Pippen is the one who is most likely to actually become one.

Ron Artest, imagine the defensive plays he'd teach. Sam Cassell and J-Kidd definitely, their intelligence on basketball surpasses most. They'd teach great.

Glen Rice? How come? I always thought he was like NVE and Stackhouse, people whom took shots they shouldn't have, somewhat selfish ball players. However NVE is better then all of them and makes the shots, I guess he'd make a good coach. NVE that is.

I think great shooters will turn out to be Don Nelson-like coaches, with jump shots taking up most of their offense.

Payton? He has been terrible with younger teammates let alone thinking about seeing him coach them.

    Terrible pick.

Michael Curry. Maybe not as a head coach (Although that is the point of the thread) but as an assistant.

For head coaches, John Stockton and Reggie Miller.

John Stockton and Karl Malone for their knowledge and experience. Jon Barry for his leadership and patience. Scottie Pippen because he's been preparing to be a coach for his entire career.

Avery Johnson, Scottie Pippen, Brent Barry, Jason Kidd, Tim Duncan, Glen Rice, Kendall Gill, Mark Jackson, David Robinson, Steve Kerr, Dell Curry, Vlade Divac, Steve Nash

I'm sure there are others, and I know some of these guys retired recently, but they'd all make excellent coaches, and would have their own style.
