The Magic remind me of last years Seattle team. TMac does everything for the team while everyone else plays badly and they end up losing. TMac is like Gary Payton of last season in this light. What needs to be done is to trade TMac. This is going to upset everyone, just like it upset me when GP was traded last year, but this worked for the Sonics. Magic fans will be furious at this, but think of who the magic could get for TMac. They could get a star player and draft picks. I'm no expert on trades but I am sure that the Magic could bag almost any player in a trade for TMac. If this worked for Seattle (A city whose teams make many bone-headed trades such as for Vin Baker) it certainly has a chance to work for Orlando.
lol it wont happen...and it wont just be player it would be players..plus money..plus picks...lol unlesss we get like kobe and shaq for him hehe..
No one saw it coming with Gary Payton so don't think that it won't happen to TMac. If he is traded the Magic would get 1 star player and draft picks like I said above. The problem is that he wouldn't fit anywhere except for a dead team like Atlanta, who won't take him. It would be interesting to see him as a Cav but they don't have anything to offer. The most likely place TMac would be traded to would be New York because of Thomas' bold trades. That would get Orlando Allan Houston and cash and picks.
Allan Houston? Is that all? He sucks. No way we would do that. Tmac is staying this year, maybe next year we can start talking about this if rumors that he's gonna leave come up.
lol you cant compare tmac with gp man..just look at stats: lol size should be enough..so it's not the same idea of payton deal.. if it was kobe in Atlanta and they are getting a lot of loses..then kobe got traded and atlanta won next season..then you could compare kobe with tmac...but payton and tmac? .. just not the same..
Allan Houston's numbers aren't as high, but he has a better shooting percentage and is pretty much automatic from the line. It's all about a new start. Take Ray Allen for example his numbers got better when he was traded and I believe that Allan Houston's will too. And why does Allan Houston suck? Because he doesn't make the highlight reel or do crazy dunks? He is a good, solid player who could make a difference in Orlando.
I personally don't think that the Magic will pull the trigger on any semi-big deal this year. I think we're just going to play it out. Only deal that would be good is a deal such as the Starbury deal on the Suns angle, where we would get a bunch of salary room. It might make sense because Kobe might want to come to Orlando and prove that he is better than Tmac. Just to let you know, I'm against any Tmac deal, but if we do do a deal, I'm hoping it's for cap space, all-star, and future.
nah I really dont see Allan in Orlando sorry..but it just wont click...depending if you are still talking about with or without tmac in orlando...
He doesn't create his shot. I didn't mean he sucked period. I meant compared to Tmac he sucks. We would get so raped in that deal it isn't even funny. Houston is automatic from the line, but has a huge salary, while Tmac's is possible to get off after next year. Houston definetely isn't as good. Knicks don't have any picks worthwhile to deal after the Starbury deal. They don't have any cap room at all. With the way Isiah Thomas has been dealing and the way that John Gabriel is, this deal will probably happen. Houston can't create his own shots, he doesn't have an all-around game. I was thinking more of towards a top 15-20 players. I wouldn't consider Allan Houston among them.

I was comparing how TMac does everything in Orlando to how Payton did everything for the Sonics before the trade, Not the Lakers. I also never compared numbers. But if you want to then Gary averaged 20.8 and 8.8 assists before the trade. Not as good as TMac, but then again, they had more wins.
The idea is good, I like the concept of it.. But, You are talking about a crazed GM on the other side, wanting to make the team he is controlling in worse shape possible before he gets fired. Ill say this.. I dont know much about the bucks.. But i have heard from bucks fans, that he did it because he was getting fired and was gonna go on and sign with Washington.. Think about it.. This guy traded Sam Cassel and Ray Allen away... He got back a Gary Payton with a expiring contract and a couple of kick around players that dont do much.. Think about the situation Seattle was in.. They where getting Ray Allen.. Young, Talented and a Leader... They where getting rid of a expering Payton who wanted a championship.. Why wouldnt you get something out of Gary Payton leaving? I like the concept, but the magic are in a different postion to even think about trading him away... Tracy Is Young.. He wants to run his own team and be the star of a team... I think a championship want comes when hes near the end of retirement.... which is along time from now.. But just for sakes of saying..
I've seen way too many threads about this. To 'fix' the Magic's problems, trading McGrady wouldn't be the answer. The answer to everything is to surrounded McGrady with players that would compliment his game. Players like Juwan Howard slow everything down, thus conflicting McGradys game style. To answer some previous threads, no, McGrady will not be benched. He is our franchise player. Benching him would surely make him walk from Orlando. No, he will not be traded like Gary Payton was. You cannot compare the two, and it's a joke discussing it. Different positons = different game styles. If he opts out, he opts out. We have until the summer before that news would break. In the mean time, just enjoy watching McGrady play in a Magic uniform. If you would like to discuss make-believe trade ideas go to the Offical Trading Idea Thread. Here For now, let it rest and finish watching this horrific season.
