Send them out west. See how they do then. :P

Good point...because we all know who the true dominant players are.

Largely due to the amount of missed shots, but they hustle for those offensive boards. Sorry I couldn't resist.

The Lakers have had a tendancy to play to the level of their competition this year and if they continue this trend the game will be a lot closer than we should expect. Fortunately for the Lakers, the Cavs have been horrendous on the road all season long. The Lakers have to step up their defensive intensity in this game and limit the turnovers. Devean George will be the key in this game, because he will likely have the task of guarding Lebron. Devean needs to play in control and not pick up cheap fouls. The Lakers don't want to be put in a predictcament with Kobe having to guard LeBron, because they need Kobe's energy solely on the offensive side of the ball. With Shaq and Malone out again, the Lakers are going to struggle, but expect Kobe to clean glass tonight and take over this game. He will take it upon himself to out shine LeBron and lead the Lakers to a much needed victory. I predict Lakers by 5.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting allnet:</div><div class="quote_post">You still have 2 all-stars to give you scoring all you need is tough players coming off the bench who will give you points, rebounds, energy and have guys who are willing to go all out to get loose balls. You basically haev no depth.Any time your 2nd unit comes into the game you can see the other team players faces light up.You have some young kids who may be useful down the line but for this season? you are pretty weak in that area.</div>

We were a great team with Shaq and Malone, but when their gone, everything suddenly goes bad. So who comes in, back-ups, and we are not playing anywhere near the same ball as we where before. Do we have decent depth? Yes the Lakers do, but that is definetley something they lack. Despite losing Shaq/Malone, we should still be playing fairly well with a superstar backcourt.

Then on the other hand, I have to agree with Laker_Fever also. When 2 HOF's leave the lineup, your whole game plan changes, and it could take a while to adjust to. We already sort of lack in depth, so when your depth is forced to start, your depth is that much shallow, that's another reason why the Lakers are losing.

7 quick team fouls (2 on Slava) on the Lakers in the first quarter and only 11 points so far. The energy isn't their tonight again for the Lakers. Still early, but shooting 26% from the field is not going to get it done on any night.

This has been a grind all game for the Lakers, hopefully they can pull it out.

The Lakers turned it on defensively down the stretch and got some key baskets by Devean George and Brian Cook down the stretch. The Cavs had another meltdown in the 4th quarter and only managed 14 points, coming into the quarter with a 5 point edge. Very gutsy win for the Lakers, but I'm concerned with Kobe's shoulder injury. Playing without 3 stars is, too much for any team to shoulder.

Damn, this is horrible, how much bad can it get for the Lakers. Hopefully everything will turn out well, because Payton can't do it by himself with these average players. I'm happy about the win, I'm stunned that we even won, after Kobe went out I almost gave up all hope, but our role players really stepped it up. Payton was able to keep the Lakers under control, and ran the offense well. Devean George finally came out of his little 'slump' and came up big for the Lakers, he finally came alive when we needed him to. Brian Cook again looking better out on the court in only 20 minutes he grabbed 6 boards to go along with 13 points. The key here was, LA knew what the deal was when Kobe got hurt, they got the job done, and I can't be more happier of this Laker win.

Again for the Cavs, execution is a problem for them. When Lakers came up with big baskets, they weren't able to come up with an answer. Overall, the Cavs did not have a good shooting night.

Lakers played hella good in the 4th. I was glad to see Rush and George step up. Also Slava held his own too. It sucks Kobes injured. If its serious thats gonna be a big problem. Hopefully the MRI results wont be anything to bad.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Magic Johnson:</div><div class="quote_post">Man you certainly defiled LeBron there. </div>

Not really, I came pretty dam accurate enough i think. LeBron ended up with more points than i thought, with 16 but he shot 20 shots, which I didnt see him doing. Just as i predicted he struggled, shooting 6-20 from the field. he also had 5 rebounds like I predicted, to go along with 7 assists, only two above my prediction. On the fact that he did struggle and shots 20 shots to get to 16, I think my prediction came out to be pretty accurate dont you think? [IMG]

Lebron's 6/20 shooting performance and 6 turnovers is not going to get the job done for the Cavs to win.

James had to force a lot of shots, only him and Z were the only Cavs to step up on the offensive end.

He got right there around his averages, not a bad game by any means. No one helps him, he has to be our leading scorer and get everyone else involved, very tough for a rook that just turned 19.

    Changes need to be made.

This team needs a point guard and a shooter asap, I would not sit on Miles and Ilgauskas much longer.

George had a great game, beating Boozer at his own style of game.

What what an ugly game last night was. And what a nightmare us Laker fans are feeling right now as another superstar went down....Kobe Bryant. We should now just bow our heads and pray that the MRi results are not too serious. Does anybody know an update yet? But people have to respect Kobe for what he did out there before he left the game for good. He played defense with literally one arm, and even attempted to shoot the ball with one hand....just goes to show how much of a competitior he is. And this is why Kobe is my favorite player. He's always up to the challenge no matter what the circumstances.

Second half, Gary just said it how it is. Everybody just had to go out there and suck it up. And that they did. Even though Gary Payton shot a horrible 4/18, he made enough shots down the stretch, and got his backup teammates involved in the ballgame. Devean George played excellent in the second half, controlled the glass, and you gotta love his dunk uncontested. Brian Cook, Kareem Rush, Sampson, Fisher, Slava, it was a team effort all-around, and it got us this W.

To the Cavs team: Are you telling me you couldn't beat a team that has a rash of injuries? No Shaq, no Malone, and no Kobe? You only managed to make 79 points? LeBron, in the 4th quarter, 0 points?? Hmmm....just shows how pathetic and sorry that team is.

I don't know if this has been posted anywhere else but Kobe will be out for at least 5 games and Phil expects him to be out for a few weeks. The good news is that it is not the type of injury that will have side effects in the future. Kobe should be back to normal once he heals.
Personally, I think this is great (not Kobe's injury) because this allows the bench to actually play some good minutes. I'm looking forward to seeing Luke, Sampson, and Cook step up.
