Tim Duncan is the dominating player of the future, hands down. Like someone else said in this topic, they think of a big man when the word 'dominating' comes to mind. TD has probably the best foot work in the post in the league, and has his bank shot down. With that being said, it simply will make him the most dominating player for the future, not that he can't be considered now, but he's only getting better.

I feel sorry for Duncan, he gets no love from the fans, and when he retires from the game, I would think that he will be forgotten. Sad.

KG is the total package, he will have love from the fansand will have out of this world career numbers by the time he is done. An amazing basketball ambassador.

Kobe and T-Mac have hurt themselves in 2003 with off the court trouble and just a lack of team support. Seems to me that these 2 will only be out there for personal achievement.

With Yao it is interesting, once Shaq is gone, no one will have his size. We know Yao has amazing skill as well, but as of now he really has shown a lack of aggressiveness, which can hurt him.

Vince Carter? He had his run and will never be higher than he was after that slam dunk contest. Sorry.

James? That is all up to Cavs GM Jim Paxon. What he puts around LeBron will be most important. I would like to see shooters/defenders around him, people that know what their job is, people that will move without the basketball. If Paxon does it right, James is the man.

i think a Larry Bird vs Magic Johnsonesque rivalry between KG and TD for superiority of the next decade is possible. Amare Stoudemire and Lebron are going to be the two next dominant players

Yes, Duncan and Garnett are great players. Thet are not the players of the future, they are the BEST players right now.

In the future, then those rights are going to be handed over to Lebron James, Yao Ming, and probably even Melo.

Lebron is just plain amazing for his age. His work ethic is out of this world. His court vision is awesome, great passer and a great shooter(could work on that some more). He is Michael, Larry and Magic all combined in one.

Yao Ming. He has probably the sweetest shot for a center in the league. He is just so smooth when releasing the ball. Once he becomes a bit more aggresive down low, he will be the dominating center of our future.

Carmelo has shown one thing that has proven him in my book......................leadership. he knows how to carry a team on the palm of his hands. This is something he edges out LeBron in.

Too bad Nuggets and Cavs only play twice a year.

Something that might decide alot of this talk is the Rookie/Sophmore game, given that Yao doesn't get into the all-star game, it'll be kind of something to set the standards by.

That is so far off it is not even funny. LeBron is in the top 5 in the league in 4th quarter points. Melo is coming off of a sub-par December where he shot 30 some odd %. Yes Melo is a part, but so is the GM, the coach, Nene, Camby, Miller, Boykins, Barry, and Lenard. Denver is far from a one man show, they have been one of the best pure teams in basketball on both sides of the ball. Switch Melo and Bron and the Cavs have a worse record than they do now.

Note to people who can't read, I love Carmelo Anthony and the Nuggets and defend them more than anybody on here, just throwing out my opinion.

The Front Runner has to be LeBron James, followed probably behind Yao, and KG.

There can be many great answers to this question, but LeBron is famous worldwide now, and has created a big impact, almost a pop culture icon. People will think of LeBron when it comes to basketball, but for most dominating, will be Kobe Bryant (if stays with Lakers), he has a shot of controlling the 00s, he already started the new decade with championships, and may he have more....T-mac, KG, TD, Shaq, all great picks.....Future looks so bright, so many answers.
