<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">STORRS, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Top-ranked Connecticut begins possibly its toughest stretch of the schedule on Sunday when it hosts unbeaten and seventh-ranked Oklahoma at Gampel Pavilion.

Connecticut (12-1), which has won nine straight, is starting a stretch of three of the next four games against ranked foes with upcoming contests against North Carolina and Pittsburgh. This is the Huskies' third straight year facing the Sooners.

The argument can be made that Connecticut's difficult stretch started with Tuesday's 75-74 victory at Rutgers. Ben Gordon scored 22 points and Emeka Okafor added 21, 16 rebounds and six blocks.

The Huskies are a perfect 9-0 at home, including a 4-0 mark at Gampel.

The first two meetings between Connecticut and Oklahoma have been interesting affairs. Two seasons ago in Hartford, Ebi Ere nailed a jumper with 16 seconds to go for a 69-67 victory for the Sooners. Oklahoma hosted last season and led by as many as 20 points before holding on for a 73-63 victory. Okafor was limited to 15 points and 10 rebounds.</div>

    ESPN's Pregame

This game is ultimately the battle for the number one ranking. Oklahoma has had two top fifteen wins thus far while Connecticut only has a loss and a one point win over Rutgers to show for their non-conference play thus far. I firmly believe that Oklahoma is the better team and will come away with the win.

I expect Uconn to start out slow and go on their usual 2nd half run.

Oklahoma better than Connecticut? [IMG] they sure showed it

Uconn simply destroyed the Sooners...Okafor had 9 blocks.Oklahoma losing by 27 flatted them....It was never close.

    86-59 was the final

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Emeka Okafor fell one blocked shot short of a triple-double and No. 1 Connecticut put on one of the most impressive defensive displays of the season, knocking No. 6 Oklahoma from the ranks of the unbeaten, 86-59 Sunday.

Okafor, the leading vote-getter on the AP's preseason All-America team, had 21 points, 10 rebounds and nine blocked shots for the Huskies (13-1). He had a triple-double earlier this season against Army with 18 points, 15 rebounds and 10 blocked shots.

With the 6-foot-10 Okafor anchoring things in the middle, Connecticut contested every pass and forced the Sooners (10-1) into quick shots time after time in winning their 10th straight game.

The Sooners were able to handle Connecticut's reserves, closing the game with a 14-2 run.

Denham Brown had 14 points for the Huskies, while Rashad Anderson had 13 and Ben Gordon and Charlie Villaneuva each had 11.

Some of Brown's passes tonight were out of this world.

They were third in the only poll that matters (JBB Poll). Also, give me a week or two before I put up your av's. I've got some funny ones on the way.

The thing that was so impressive about Uconn destruction of OU was that ben gorden never really got off. Yet they still destroyed them. OU was down by like 40pts at one point. Uconn fans actually cheered when OU made a basketball because the even felt sorry for OU. Now thats sad, they got pity cheers.
