Anyone thinks he should be playing more? The guy has a killer jump shot and is a smart player. Maybe they should trade him instead to a contending team, because he doesnt really fit in with a team of youth. I'm sure the Suns might be able to get something valuable in return, like a rebounder or a young player with potential.

I agree. From what I saw last season, Jacobsen was a good player. The one ability he lacked was the ability to dribble out of pressure and attack the rim, kind of like Eric Piatkowski. If the Suns can find time to play and develop him, it'd be great. If they can't, they should trade Casey to a team that needs shooters, maybe to Chicago for Corie Blount?

The Suns are stocked in the front court... right now they have 4 guys who play guard. The Suns wouldn't ever think of trading their best outside shooter for Corie Blount... we had him once and weren't too thrilled.

What are you talking about trading him for youth? He IS youth!! He'll be 23 this year... how much younger do ya want?

The Suns are in desperate need of outside shooting, and that's the reason they drafted him, I doubt we'll see him traded unless they get somebody else at his position (if they get an All-Star SG then he or JJ are expendable). He's been playing about 24 minutes a game since the Penny/Marbury trade, which is half the game... so I don't see why they need to play him anymore, JJ and Barbosa need to get all the time, seeing how they are the Suns starters and who Phoenix is looking forward to devloping... Casey needs to learn how to ride the bench and be a good 6th man, he's been doing fine, coming in and hitting big shots. He drives with authority, and isn't afraid of the NBA big men... so I think he's been getting good minutes but isn't contributing like he should... his minutes are up but now his production is down, in the last 5 games he's 1-8 from 3pt range, and is averaging 4 points.

Cabarkapa and Marion are their only other real threats from deep (and now Barbosa has been showing range) so trading him will kill the Suns in terms of offense, Casey can extend the defense, making it easier for Marion and Amare to score inside... I just don't see the argument of trading him for another forward on a team full of frontcourt players. But he is what you say he is, and that's why I think the Suns need to keep him.

I loved Jacobson at Stanford. I've actually been following his career since his junior year at Glendora High School. He's an outstanding shooter. Everybody in this thread touched on that. What some of you guys don't realize is that he's not just a good shooter, but he's a SCORER.

He is probably better off coming off the bench rite now, but honestly, I don't think Joe Johnson is any good. I dont see the harm in giving him some minutes on the floor and see how his outside shot can help the interior guys.

Casey is a great shooter and a fearless driver, but what he lacks is the mid range jumper. Lately, when he gets pressure at the 3-pt. line, the defense piles up in the paint and force him to put up a bad layup. If he could learn to fake the three, then pull up and shot the mid-range shot, he could blow his scoring capabilities open.

P.S. Why do people talk bad about JJ. The guy is the most consistent scorer we got know and is leading the team by example now that Steph is gone. Leave my boy JJ alone.

Yea, I agree, Jacobsen needs to expand his game a bit to be playing big minutes...

and I got nothing against joe johnson, I just don't understand why everybody is so high on the guy. His shot attempts are always higher than his points....that's not good....
