Vince is gunshy about driving the lane. One more injury like hes had the last couple years just may putt he nail in the coffin of his career,or so he thinks.
As a huge fan of Vinsanity as I was ( still ) the last several years .. he didn't earn as much respect and appreciation from me as he did this year ! The term "Greatness" doesn't mean scoring 40 points , nor rebounding , dunking, all star appearences and not even punch of trophies or being a Hall Of Famer .. It's defined by Leadership, heart, defence, hard work, high competitive level, not taking a single possession off, being there when the team needs you the most, and more importantly than all, the name on the front of the jersey, THE TEAM ! These are the things that sperated Michael Jordan from other superstars, these are the things that made basketball experts call him the Greatest ! I personally don't think Vince is right there yet, nor is any player in our present, but he's definitly on the right path .. and hopefully .. after 8,9, or 10 years .. we can look back at him as one of the best ever !
I agree totally with Air Canada. When i first got to watch NBA, one name got stuck in my head and that was Vince Carter. Now this season he's back again and he does whats best for the team. Go Vinsanity!
I used to be a big fan of Vince, now all I see him as is a dissapointment.Jalen Rose is becoming a better leader for you guys.I would of swore Jalen was your best player considering VC's form.He has gone from a superstar that was capable from doing anything at any time to being no more than just a guy who can score 19 points a game that will at times be lucky to reach 15.
I hate Vince Carter but Jalen is not better than him allnet. Vince could be a top 10 player but hes way to inconsistant.

I think everyone gave him too much credit too quickly, and now there has been a boomerang effect. A lot of people have turned agasint him because he has not lived up to what they intially thought he would. Personally, I think Vince is soft, and I question is work ethic. He has only marginally improved since his early years. He's a great talent, and a good player, but i doubt he will ever be HOF material.
Ok first lesson I said Jalen Rose is becoming a better leader=that doesn't mean he is one. I would of swore Jalen was your best player considering VC's form=meaning Jalen has been playing like the best player on your team considering what Carter has been producing.Games of shooting under 40% while being lucky to get 15 points will not cut it.

I really don't agree with most of the assessments in this thread. I think the main problem was that he was being touted as the next MJ but that blew up in his as well as everyone elses face. Now everyone is just getting on the "Vince Sucks" bandwagon but have not even watched most of the games he has played in this season. Everyone is like "Vince is soft" or "Jalen is a better leader". But I ask them...who is winning the games for Toronto? I have watched most of the games this season and I no doubt can say that it is none other than the "Soft" Vince Carter. I still have my doubts about his heart but I can't deny the fact that he is the leader of this team and he wins the games for us. He still needs to improve but you can't say that he isn't one of the top 10 to 15(okay top 15) players in the league. Carter has shown that he can play a complete game and also take over in the fourth quarter when it is needed. Sure his scoring is down from the previous years but that isn't the measure of how good of a player he is. It boils down to who wins the games for the team and in this case....it is Vince Carter

Vince is just a victem of his own amazing athletics and past accomplishments. People automatically decided to put him in the same area as micheal jordan. Vince will never please everyone and thats just natural because he isn't trying to be a micheal, kobe or iverson, he's trying to be a vince carter and so far his team is where they need to be, people seem to forget that the raptors really dont have the same offensive opportunities without him. If you were to ask me if he has the talent to become a kobe, or possibly an image of micheal then I'd say of course. But you cant force a player to be a certain way personality wise
about VC being soft, he got serious injuries to both knees, another one might be the end of VC era. i bet that is still in the back of his head everytime he drives to the hole. (can you see the fear on his face everytime he got tripped or hit around the knee) i really think he needs to stay healthy for a full season before he feels comfy enough again. if you happened to catch one of his interviews about his main focus this year, i believe he said health. i do feel VC needs to elevate his game, but hopefully that is something to come. this is just wut i think about VC, true or not. if any1 had injuries to their knees, please tell me what it feels like after surgery, cus i really have no clue.
many players can score thru 3 quarters, but scoring the 4th is the difference between a man and a boy. VC is definitely on the right path. (keep it up) and how many players can take over a game singlehandedly.
