got this from LG: <div class="quote_poster">Quoting sean2023:</div><div class="quote_post"> XTRA Sports 1150 just got word from Larry Burnett in El Segundo that Kobe will be out for 2-3 weeks. It's some sort of sprain. Kareem Rush will be inserted into the starting lineup. Larry is also saying he thinks they'll have to look at someone for a 10 day contract...or possibly RF if he's ready. </div>http://forums.lakersground.net/viewtopic.p...4069&forum=1&26

Damnit, Shaq, or Malone, needs to come back before Kobe does, so we can at least have some chance of winning. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Mel:</div><div class="quote_post">got this from LG: http://forums.lakersground.net/viewtopic.p...4069&forum=1&26</div> WHAT!!!?? Man, I don't even want to talk about this. It would be different if Shaq or Malone was there, but leaving Payton by himself to carry the load could be trouble.
Kobe shouldn't come back until he's fully healed, no matter how long that might be. The key for the Lakers right now is getting Shaq back in the lineup. Malone will be out for another 2-3 weeks and this frontcourt is continuing to get pounded on the boards. They might be okay if they're only playing the Atlantas and Clevelands of the world, but the next nine game stretch includes Denver and Minnesota at home, and road games versus Sacramento, Memphis, Dallas and Utah. The Lakers need Shaq back, really, really badly. If not, this could get very ugly.
Paging Walt Williams. He's still un-signed and we could use his scoring from outside during this stretch. This is going to be a nasty stretch for the Lakers heading into the All Star Break. I'm just looking ahead to a healthy 2nd half of the season.

I'll try to find the article for you.
I saw two to three weeks on espn's bottomline, that's why I figured it was fairly accurate. I hope you're right though, I just would hate to see him come back before he's ready and end up losing him for the rest of the year.
A loss is a loss; except in the event of a tiebreaker, it doesn't really matter how good their upcoming opponents are. They just have to make up that lost ground later in the season by not losing to teams like Golden State and Phoenix(something that we know LA will do if they've been rolling non-stop).
